Job Description Summary:
Senior UI Engineers are skilled professionals who design, develop, test, maintain, and enhance user interfaces for web applications. They possess deep knowledge and expertise in front-end development technologies and frameworks. UI Developers collaborate with internal and external teams to ensure seamless integration of UI components, work independently on projects, and partner with cross-functional teams to manage project priorities, deadlines, and deliverables. In this role, you will mentor and guide junior developers by reviewing their code, providing constructive feedback, and encouraging them to enhance their technical skills. UI Developers are innovative problem solvers who continuously drive improvements in the user experience and ensure best practices are followed throughout the development lifecycle
About the Role:
Deliver complex software projects for our web applications in Thomson Reuters Product Group.
Ensure we have the right software development processes to deliver high-quality products on time.
Work with other developers to build scalable, maintainable, extensible software systems aligned with the organization's standards and best practices.
Build user interfaces that are intuitive, accessible, and consistent across all Thomson Reuters products.
Collaborate with product managers, designers, and engineers to define requirements, designs, and specifications for new features and enhancements.
Implement unit tests using automated testing frameworks to ensure code quality.
Participate in code reviews to improve coding practices and provide feedback to fellow team members.
Document technical designs, architecture diagrams, and system flows to communicate ideas effectively within the team.
Create prototypes of proposed solutions to validate assumptions before investing too much time into implementation details.
Work closely with other teams to integrate user interface components into larger systems.
Stay up-to-date with industry trends and emerging technologies.
About you:
7+ years of professional experience in front-end development using HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript/Typescript, ReactJS, Angular, VueJS, Webpack/NPM.
Proficiency in testing frameworks such as Jasmine, React Testing Library is essential for ensuring robust unit, integration, and end-to-end testing of our front-end applications
Experience building complex User Interfaces using these technologies at scale.
3+ years of experience with open-source libraries like Material UI, Redux, redux-saga, react-testing-library, etc.
4+ years of TypeScript / Typescript script language, including object-oriented programming concepts such as classes, inheritance, polymorphism, generics, interfaces, type inference, decorators, etc.
Experience with one or more cloud providers like AWS and Azure.
Experience building chat interfaces like ChatGPT is preferred.
Familiar with modern Gen AI tools and an understanding of AI & ML systems is preferred.
Experience using version control systems like Gitlab CI/CD pipeline for continuous integration & delivery of applications.
Strong problem-solving abilities, attention to detail, and commitment to producing high-quality work products.
Ability to collaborate effectively within cross-functional teams spread across multiple geographies.
Bachelor’s degree in computer science or equivalent experience required, master’s preferred but not mandatory.
