Job Title: Senior Test Engineer

Introduction to role


Are you ready to make a significant impact in the world of IT? As a Senior Test Engineer, you will conduct various testing activities within IT projects, ensuring software products meet the highest standards. You will work in line with set test strategies and best practices, documenting your findings clearly and concisely. Your role will encompass requirements analysis, test design, test case creation, test execution, automation, tooling, test documentation, and reporting. Additionally, you will mentor and coach less experienced Test Engineers, sharing your expertise and fostering their growth.


Career Sub-Level Description




Position requiring professional qualifications with minimum9and upto 12 years of specialised knowledge of work area. Works on problems of complex scope and has the ability to respond to detailed queries. Applies own judgement to independently determine a course of action. May also be responsible for coaching, guiding and mentoring junior members.




Accountabilities


  • Extensive experience with end-to-end testing processes, including test planning, design, execution, and reporting, working either in a team with other testers or independently as a sole tester.


  • Develop and implement comprehensive test strategies and plans for functional testing that align with project goals and timelines.


  • Lead the preparation and execution of functional test scripts, ensuring thorough coverage and adherence to best practices.


  • Conduct in-depth reviews of test scripts before and after execution to guarantee accuracy and completeness.


  • Oversee the defect lifecycle, from identification and documentation to prioritization and resolution, ensuring clear communication with development teams.


  • Allocate tasks and manage workloads for the testing team, ensuring efficient utilization of resources and timely completion of testing activities.


  • Monitor and manage the progress of test phases, providing regular updates and detailed reports on test execution status to stakeholders.


  • Facilitate post-testing analysis to identify areas for improvement and provide constructive feedback to enhance future testing cycles.


  • Identify and mitigate risks associated with the testing process, addressing issues promptly and escalating when necessary.


  • Demonstrated ability to mentor junior testers, offering guidance and support to enhance their skills and performance.


  • Exceptional communication and leadership skills, capable of coordinating with cross-functional teams and stakeholders effectively.


Essential Skills/Experience


  • Technical or Business Degree or proven relevant experience.


  • Highly proficient skills and experience in testing software products.


  • Strong Experience working within global testing teams.


  • Evidence of implementing innovative testing solutions.


  • Solid knowledge of Agile methodologies and experience working in Agile environments.


  • Advanced knowledge of software testing and exposure to automation.


  • Strong analytical skills and meticulous attention to detail, ensuring the delivery of high-quality software products.


  • Excellent communication skills.


  • Strong knowledge and skills in using testing tools and methodologies.


  • Excellent domain skills.


  • Competency in writing and executing SQL queries to validate backend data and proficiency in API testing using tools such as Postman or SoapUI.


Desirable Skills/Experience


  • Masters degree


  • GxP Validation experience


  • Lifesciences domain skills
