Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Senior Tax Analyst (Global Tax Reporting Centre of Excellence (COE). You will be part of the COE team tasked with supporting the design and implementation of processes to gather the required financial and other data leveraging US GAAP financial statements for OECD Pillar 2 compliance. You will also support non-US direct tax compliance processes and controls for over 400 non-US entities through the relationship with our global external service provider and in collaboration with our Global Tax organization.
This process and governance-related role entails frequent interactions with external service providers, Corporate Accounting, Global Business Services (GBS) and Global Tax managers. This professional utilizes organizational skills and a high-level of accountability to ensure that tax reporting obligations are prepared and filed in accordance with Caterpillar protocols.
The preference for this role is to be based out of Bangalore, Whitefield office
What you will do
- Pillar 2:
- Support the data collection process for Pillar 2 compliance
- Create documentation and work procedures for Pillar 2 datapoints
- Analyze data received, including validation for completeness and accuracy
- Support technical research on Pillar 2 topics
- Non-US direct tax compliance:
- Organize, track and document planning calls with external service provider for regional scope
- Review additional work requests and support fee and scope discussions and approvals
- Perform periodic access reviews for external service provider tool access
- Develop and maintain regional contact lists
- Other:
- Support master data process management related to Legal Entities
- Develop system expertise with Pillar 2 software and OneStream
- Collaborate with GBS on standardization and optimization of tax compliance and other tax processes in support of the wider Global Tax organization
- Implement identified process efficiencies or dashboards utilizing technology and generating process improvement ideas
What you will have
- Education/Experience: The position typically requires a Bachelor’s Degree in accounting, finance, or business-related degree and 3+ years of progressively responsible finance experience.
Top Candidates Will Also Have:
- Strong US GAAP accounting expertise. Experience of working with different local GAAP’s (e.g. IFRS) and also accounting for income tax processes is an added strength
- A good understanding of finance and business processes in global organizations. Experience of non-US direct tax compliance requirements including tax returns and transfer pricing is an added strength but not required. Prior Pillar 2 knowledge is not a requirement
- Strong knowledge of M365 and familiarity with SharePoint. Experience with finance related reporting tools such as SAP and Data Lakes is an added strength
- Strong communication skills, accountability, organizational skills, and good judgment
- Strong analytical, critical thinking, problem-solving, and process management & improvement skills
- Collaborative, proactive, team-oriented personality with the ability to build and foster relationships with internal and external business partners
- Fluency in English, both oral and written. Other languages are an added strength
