Assures all applications are well behaved and all platforms, OS’s (Windows, AIX, UNIX, LINUX, etc) and networks are properly running to support production, test and development environments effectively and efficiently. Additionally, technical resource to perform all application migrations, upgrades and installations are well rehearsed and documented prior to conducting official installations. This effort requires close coordination with all members of Operations IT. This position works under general supervision and direction. Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:
Resolves incidents with fewest people involved and fewest re-assignments possible
Takes ownership of incidents and see them to full resolution
Responds to end-user trouble requests through enterprise ticketing system
Helps alleviate ticket strain on other SMEs (Subject Matter Experts) who may be focused on project work
Captures improvement/process opportunities so they can be prioritized and resolved as efficiently as possible
Creates knowledge base articles that can be utilized as a point of reference when resolving similar issues going forward
Ensures consistency and professionalism of all incident notes and resolution information
Mentors other teams and team members
Partners with team leads, assisting with problem resolution, upgrades and enhancements across the company
Facilitates infrastructure standardization across all programs
Clarifies support escalation and responsibilities
Is the expert on the entire team's capabilities including triage/evaluation of impact, resolving incidents that may not have an exact article on what to do
Facilitate Incident escalation
Independently resolve critical issues as required to mitigate and minimize outages, pulling in other resources as needed
Provides technical guidance for system requirements on procurement requests
Troubleshoots server and workstation hardware across several manufacturers and platforms (including, but no limited to Cisco, Dell, HP, NetApp)
Works to continuously redefine/evolve the role of the team and align with Cubic standards and procedures

Minimum Job Requirements:
Four-year college degree, in computer science or related technical field, plus a minimum of five years systems administration/analyst experience.
Knowledge and experience in supporting applications and Infrastructure.
Knowledge of networks, Windows and UNIX Operating Systems.
Familiarity with Linux editors such as Vi, Nano, and Vim.
Experience with virtualization technologies, such as VMWare, Hyper-V, RDS.
Support and troubleshoot virtual hosts within a VMware environment.
Experience with VMWare vSphere, and ESX virtual computing methods Knowledge of databases, including SQL Server and Oracle.
Knowledge of SQL in general. Board understanding of System Administration/Analyst methodology and principles.
ITIL experience. Must have excellent communications skills, both verbal and written.
Proficient with all Microsoft Office applications.
Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously and under tight deadlines. Able to understand and carry out instructions provided in various forms (written, oral, diagram).
