The Role


As a Senior Supervisor with Worley,you will work closely with our existing team to deliver projects for our clients while continuing to develop your skills and experience.

  • The Senior Craft Supervisor reports to the Craft Area Superintendent/ Area Manager and is responsible for coordinating and supervising craft activities. It may involve supervising one or more Supervisors with trade groups working in particular construction discipline (civil, structural, piping). Provides supervision and leadership for all aspects of assigned discipline work at the project site while supervising and controlling subcontractors work, with the cooperation of team of Supervisors.
  • Thorough understanding of work scope, workload and project specifications and drawings related to a certain discipline (mechanical, civil, electrical, instrumentation) work
  • Allocate work areas to Supervisors under his control and specify responsibilities for accountability of assigned tasks and evaluation of performance, specifically on HSSE
  • Supervise and guide discipline Supervisors for timely, safely and accurate work execution
  • Ensure that all the work activities are completed as per the quality norms and as per project specifications
  • Monitor overall work schedule and resource mobilization plan for discipline work based on the work front (drawing and material release) plan in association with project control. Where AWP is used, controls the distribution of CWP's to Supervisors and Contractor
  • Monitor craft compliance with project safety program and job skill requirements, document and ensure corrective measures are implemented. Arrange technical on-site workshop or practical demonstration for supervisors and/or a Tool-Box talk for workmen for competency development
  • Implement three week look ahead schedule with inputs from Superintendent and Project Control Department and draw up a final weekly execution plan for discipline work to correlate with 3WLA.
  • Review work front, progress, and resource (manpower and materials) deployment against the plan on a daily and weekly basis with Superintendent and Subcontractors for timely completion of work against schedule. Identify potential threats to safety, quality and progress of work; recommend mitigating measures to superintendentand site management and follow up for action
  • Monitors progress of installation/erection works and reports to Construction Superintendent on a daily basis.
  • Ensure Preparation/implementation of Method Statement, Job hazard analysis, risk assessment and mitigation plan
  • Checks conformity of all discipline material upon receipt against discipline Specification and ensures that materials are stored and maintained in adequate conditions. Monitors the management of materials and spare parts.
  • Ensures routine good housekeeping is performed on-site by Contractor
  • Checks that Sub-contractors prefabrication and erection equipment are satisfactory operating and adequate for the job to be carried out
  • Monitors the preparation for the pre-commissioning operation in close coordination with QC Inspectors and discipline Construction Superintendent
  • Responsible for investigating, collating and analyzing information to assist in the audits facilitated by the clients.
  • Carry out any other duties as and when required by the superintendent.

About You


To be considered for this role it is envisaged you will possess the following attributes:


  • Job Specific Knowledge: Knowledge of quality control, safe ways of working, resource requirement, sequence of activities, and supervision of construction activities for the respective discipline. Aware of the requirements of various applicable standards (Indian Standards, ASME etc.) for the respective discipline. Knowledge of statutory requirements, general contract requirements and interpretation of contract clauses
  • Industry Specific Experience: Graduate Engineers with minimum 12 years of experience with minimum 3 years of experience of working as Lead Engineer/Area Manager in Fertilizer, Oil & Gas Sector and Chemicals. Should have experience with working in a consultant company.
  • Education – Qualifications, Accreditation, Training: Graduate in Engineering in respective discipline
  • HSE Capability: Knowledge of safe methods of execution of construction activities for the respective discipline
  • IT Skills: Proficient in MS Office
  • People Skills: Leadership skills, Team Player
  • Other: Adaptable, open towards learning and development, person of integrity
