Engineer, Application ManagementRole ProfileSenior Engineer, Application Management would be member of LSEG Post Trade Calypso Production Support team that handles the Level 2 support for primarily production and some of the other Non Production Environments.This role is associated with the management of the testing, build and implementation of releases and also any independent infrastructure and environment support. Working in the wider Application Support Team – the focus will be on delivering the change program across all lifecycles from dev, test, uat to Member Test and Production environments. A production focused approach will be required with resilience, operational readiness, performance and production support being at the forefront of delivery.Would be required to work on shift based work pattern as per to the monthly rota. Out of hours support overnight and across weekends and Bank Holidays is frequently needed. Should be able to provide on-call support.Strong business knowledge is required for working with business teams during investigations.They need to be SME in the underlying technologies used by the applications. They are required to provide detailed technical support for developers producing bug fixes & new releases of these applications.Must be self-motivating with the ability to prioritise workload.Key ResponsibilitiesSupport of the LSEG Post Trade / London Clearing House (LCH) applications related to Shared Services Platforms / Clearing Services which is part of London financial market infrastructure.Support Incidents and ProblemsAnalyze problems and decide on suitable resolutionsAnalyze wider infrastructure issues for potential impacts on underlying applicationsApply resolutions following the LCH Change Management procedureReport status to relevant business and IT teamsRecord progress of incident resolution in ServiceNowFollow detailed incident management proceduresMonitor ServiceNow for Incidents and ProblemsBug fixes and improvements to LCH productsAnalyze and update system monitoring tools for current health and potential future points of failureIdentify longer term fixes for application bugs and small functionality improvement requestsCreating metrics to measure the efficiency of the systemImplement application fixesUpdate Bitbucket with source code changes where vitalUpdate relevant WIKI/ documentation with changesProvide input to the Release process for new releasesWork to the ITIL standard following LCH policiesMaintain working relationship with business partnersShould be willing to work on Morning, Day or Night shift based on UK time according to monthly rosterOut of hours support / On-call supportBe available for overnight support of production services to ensure successful completion of processingRespond to overnight calls and look after issuesSupport weekend releases and maintenance workParticipate in Disaster Recovery exercisesAssist in project related workCarry out requirements as definedProvide advice during bug fixes, design and implementationAct as SME for the application and infrastructure domainsQuality check potential changesReview development release packages prior to production deploymentProvide benefit of experience in the business area and application supportPERSON SPECIFICATIONEducation:Degree or equivalent qualification, preferably in a technical fieldRequired skills and experienceProficiency in Calypso architecture and functionalitiesKeen knowledge on handling EOD and Intra Day Batch Support.Preferable to have Control M experience.Strong UNIX/Linux System Administration skillsKnowledge of Network Diagnostics, DNS Servers, Web Servers and firewall connectivity analysis (Preferred)Windows Directory permissions managementStrong Oracle Database/SQL skillsFunctional knowledge of Red Hat JBoss EAP (or equivalent Web Server technology)Scripting ability (Shell scripting, Python)Experience with IBM MQSolid grasp of DataDog, ITRS Geneos, Accenture CalMon tool.Hands-on in version control repository (Ideally Bitbucket)Exposure to Jenkins, CI/CD, Ansible and AWS Cloud Technologies will be an added advantagePerson SpecificationExperience of working in an IT support team (application / infrastructure)Excellent analytical skills, Attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.Proven technical experience in core technologies.Ability to communicate clearly and concisely to IT and business teams and to senior managementFamiliarity with financial products and terminology.Willing to adopt Hybrid working mode and work in Bangalore OfficeGood to have ITIL or AWS certificationExperience in Financial or an investment banking environment or clearing service environmentKnowledge of Trade Life Cycle servicesLSEG is a leading global financial markets infrastructure and data provider.
