Job Description

As a Frontend SEO Software Engineer in Business Tech, you will belong to a dedicated agile SEO tech team. Your focus will be to identify and implement SEO technical improvements across the Group and work with innovative SEO tests and pilots. Moreover, you will be a strategist belonging to Centre of Excellence and working together with multiple Business Tech teams to ensure they follow SEO best practice.​​

Responsibilities: ​​
Work closely with Product Owner and agile team including other SEO experts, front-end and CMS developers to make sure that the product development is in line with the needs and will create business value​​


  • Identify tech improvements by running tech SEO audits​​
  • Drive page performance improvement initiatives​​
  • Support redirect and migration initiatives​​
  • Lead and evaluate global SEO tech pilots and tests​​
  • Advise other teams in Business Tech on SEO best practices​​
  • Share SEO knowledge and deliver SEO trainings as needed​

Qualifications
  • 6+ years of experience in technical SEO​​
  • Deep understanding of relevant SEO technologies and how they can be used to create strategic value​​
  • Experience in web-development, e.g. content management systems (CMS) and understanding programming languages such as JS, CSS, HTML​​
  • Solid understanding of JavaScript, TypeScript, React, HTML, CSS, Next.js and related web technologies.
  • Experience in optimizing XML sitemaps, robots.txt, canonical tags implementation ​​
  • Operational experience with setting and implementing redirect policies​ (e.g. Akamai Edge Redirector Cloudlet)​
  • Advanced knowledge of site analytics, keyword research, Google Search Console, SEO tools (e.g. SEMrush, Ahrefs, Screaming Frog)​
  • Strong experience in an international e-commerce environment​​
  • Excellent communication skills in English

Here are some specific topics/ team ownerships:


  • Develop and maintain XML Sitemaps (including hreflang, image, video when applicable)
  • Defining and providing transparency for all Structured data (Schema ld+JSON) for all SEO pages
  • Robots.txt structure and maintanance
  • Developing and maintaining the SEO filter pages including Internal linking Trending now component
  • Ownership of SEO tab for page property in AEM and Bulk Uploader
  • Validate and define all meta data (meta title, meta description, canonicals) for SEO sensitive pages
  • 404, Soft 404s permanent redirect solution
  • URL structure for SEO sensitive pages
  • Accessibility & HTML validity and semantics
  • SEO governance: SEO auditing tool for developers
  • Developing and maintaining Faceted navigation
  • Ownership of the SEO functionality for pagination on listing pages and pagination component
  • Maintaining and updating hreflang

This is a full-time position, starting in November 2024.
