Job Purpose:
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Senior Safety Manager to join our dynamic team for the DS24 project. The Senior Safety Manager will play a pivotal role in managing and enhancing the Safety, Health, and Environment (SH&E) standards across all project operations. This role demands a proactive individual who can drive safety initiatives, ensure strict compliance with regulatory and contractual safety requirements, and foster a culture of safety awareness throughout the organization. The successful candidate will act as an advisor, collaborator, and key contributor to the project’s safety management, with a focus on continuous improvement and effective risk mitigation.
Responsibilities:
1. SH&E Management and Compliance:
Oversee and manage the SH&E function, ensuring that all project activities comply with safety, health, and environmental regulations and meet contractual obligations.
Serve as a key advisor to the contractor’s management, offering expert guidance and recommendations on SH&E best practices and regulatory adherence.
2. Inspections and Reporting:
Coordinate and conduct regular internal SH&E inspections, identify potential hazards, and ensure corrective measures are implemented effectively.
Generate comprehensive SH&E reports and handle all senior safety submissions to the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC), including method statements and essential documentation.
3. Training and Communication:
Develop, plan, and deliver SH&E orientation and training sessions for employees and contractors, fostering awareness and adherence to safety practices.
Drive SH&E communication efforts across the organization to ensure that safety standards and practices are clearly understood and followed.
4. Audits and Compliance Monitoring:
Facilitate and coordinate external SH&E audits conducted by DMRC-approved agencies, ensuring full compliance with all relevant safety standards and promptly addressing any findings.
Lead monthly SH&E committee meetings and ensure the effective closure of nonconformance observations raised by DMRC.
5. Accident Investigation and Risk Mitigation:
Investigate accidents and incidents thoroughly, prepare detailed reports, and develop corrective and preventive measures to prevent recurrence.
Analyze risk factors and implement strategies to mitigate potential safety hazards on the project site.
6. Emergency Preparedness and Response:
Develop, implement, and regularly review emergency preparedness plans to ensure they are robust and effective.
Coordinate drills and training exercises to ensure that all personnel are prepared to respond to emergencies efficiently.

Education: B.Sc. (Physics/Chemistry/Mathematics) with a one-year full-time Safety diploma from a recognized institution/body or Full-time three-year Diploma in Engineering with a one-year full-time Safety diploma from a recognized institution/body.
