The Group Risk Management function is responsible for ensuring the development and maintenance of an adequate risk framework that enables management to deliver its strategy by balancing risk and rewards within the appetite approved by the Board. It is also responsible to ensure governance arrangements in place are adequate to effectively manage all risks of the Group. The risk function is a key contributor to the LSEG’s successful delivery of its strategy. RoleThe Role reports to the Head of Risk, Operations and APAC and is part of the Chief Risk Office – Data & Analytics and Operations team from the Group Risk function.The Group Risk function covers all aspects of Non-Financial, Financial and Strategic risk across the Group giving a unique insight and exposure to all areas of the Group. The Group Risk team is responsible for establishing the framework for the management of risks across the Group. The function acts as a close advisor to businesses and functions and is engaged in all key strategic initiatives.This role represents the 2nd line of defence and is responsible for providing oversight of the risk management activity and strategic risk partnering for functions within Group COO and support Head of Risk, Operations and APAC to build APAC region risk viewThe Senior Risk Manager will partner with BCO teams and risk managers within COO, ensuring the effective management of risk while also providing review and challenge and risk management advice and guidance. The ideal candidate will be proactive, organised and curious, possessing strong influencing and communication skills, and will be comfortable collaborating with COOLTKey ResponsibilitiesPromote a strong risk culture and awareness of the Enterprise Risk Management FrameworkOversight of the Risk Management Framework across multiple functions within COOProvide effective second line independent review and challenge to decisions that affect the functions exposure to risk. Key adviser, providing valuable risk insights and risk leadershipSupporting the First Line team in delivering and maintaining the Risk and Control Assessment (RCA), whilst providing effective and robust review and challenge, ensuring effective risk remediation actions are identified to address control vulnerabilitiesMaintaining positive relationships across all three lines of defence so that the risk framework has full endorsement from leadership and appropriately addresses their risk management needsStays abreast of relevant regulatory and industry developments, communicating important changes to the relevant stakeholdersReview and challenge quarterly risk maturity assessment scoresPerform Risk Deep Dives and report findings at the relevant Risk committeesProviding independent Second Line assessment of emerging and change risks driven by transformation programsContributing to the collation and preparation of materials for risk reporting committeesIdentifying and reporting risks to relevant committees, key business partners and senior leaders, providing expert advice and guidance in all matters relating to risk management for relevant functionsAnalyzing key risk indicators and management information for new insightsConducting topical investigations to deliver fresh risk insightsBuild a regional risk view for APAC by collaborating with Legal and Compliance, CoSec, Regional business leaders and site leaders.Candidate Profile / Key Skills10+ years’ experience working in Risk Management for organizations in the financial industryDegree in Economics/Finance or similar field.Excellent analytical and organizational skills with strong attention to detail.Strong written and verbal communication skills.Ability to negotiate and resolve issues with meaningful solutions both internally and externally.Ability to interact with individuals at all levels of the business and relevant external stakeholders.Ability to think about risk management through use of data, e.g. identifying key risk and control indicators, establishing monitoring thresholds, trends.Experience or knowledge of GRC systems and the necessary supporting components – controls, RCA, events, issues.Partnership: Good communication skills – able to clearly articulate challenges and deliverables in terms of risk outcomes.Innovation: Willingness to learn - open to adopting new processes, approaches, and ways of working.Sound judgement with experience of balancing competing factors to deliver optimal outcomes in a pragmatic fashion.LSEG is a leading global financial markets infrastructure and data provider.
