You will be based in New Delhi, India, however, frequent travel primarily in India will be required as part of the job.
The position
We are looking for an agriculture and food systems expert for a Senior Project Managerposition in the NNF India Branch Office, New Delhi. The role will be specifically dedicated to partnerships within plant science, agriculture and sustainable food systems as part of the Novo Nordisk Foundation’s strategic engagement in India.
The Senior Project Manager is specifically expected to work towards building partnerships and projects to achieve improved food security, sustainable agriculture and enhanced nutritional health within the following research and innovation goals:
· Climate-intelligent agriculture that benefits biodiversity and minimizes environmental impact.
· Improved methods for cultivating and managing crops that are environment friendly, resilient and high-yielding.
· Support Green transition in society by promoting crop genetics, microbiomes and new technologies.
· Support research and other activities that accelerate the use of sustainable methods in agriculture.
· Promote research and technologies leading to the production of sustainable and healthy food based on plant and microbial protein.
· Reduce food loss in production and distribution, promote changes in people’s diets and reduce food waste
· Promote the development of relevant incentives, regulations and legislation that can accelerate the restructuring of our food systems
About the role
As Senior Project Manager, you will be responsible for driving strategic activities and projects within biotechnology, especially focusing on Sustainable and high-yield agriculture, and Sustainable Food and Healthy Diets in close collaboration with key stakeholders in India.

You will work in project teams together with project members from various programme areas located at Foundations Headquarter (HQ) in Copenhagen, leading relevant workstreams.
Your key tasks will be to:
· Contribute significantly to developing and implementing projects in India, providing expert insight and enabling our partners to mobilize their professional fields of expertise even more effectively
· Lead the coordination and partnering with partner institutions, including research institutions, universities, the Government of India agencies, state government agencies, other foundations and international organisations in India
· Represent the Foundation externally, building networks and maintaining relationships across relevant stakeholders
· Contribute to, propose, and lead creation of documents (e.g., strategic, implementation, monitoring and evaluation frameworks, etc.)
· Participate in virtual project teams, building relationships between NNF India Branch Office and the Novo Nordisk Foundation HQ
Essential Qualifications, Skills and Experience
· You have over 10 years of relevant experience from research or government institutions, including government agencies, foundations, or academia, and preferably have international collaboration experience.
· You either have a master’s or PhD relevant for the plant science, agriculture and sustainable food system areas relevant for the field.
· You have a strong network across Indian stakeholders working within the domain of sustainable agriculture and food systems.
· You are motivated by working hands-on with communication, analysis, and stakeholder engagement alongside strategic planning.
· You are motivated by being a catalyst to enable our partners with subject-matter expertise to succeed.
· You are professional, impact oriented and independent in your ways of working.
· You are a team player, ambitious and resourceful and thrive working in hybrid, global teams.
