Job Description

SENIOR PROGRAM MANAGER – Release Train Engineer (RTE)

We are building out our Program Management organization to consist of highly motivated, analytical, and dynamic individuals to achieve our goals in Buy Technology. 


As a Senior Program Manager at NielsenIQ, you will be part of this organizational transformation as you drive and directly oversee the largest, most complex programs in buy technology. You will not only lead complex, high-visibility initiatives throughout the project lifecycle, but will also lead a team of scrum masters responsible for program execution.   Your team’s projects will cut across time zones, clients, and technologies and it is your job to motivate, allocate work, manage execution, and communicate to senior stakeholders.

RESPONSIBILITIES:


  • Drive the end-to-end execution of initiatives/features across programs and tracking of health at an Agile Release Train (ART) level
  • Drive ART PI planning ceremonies (including pre-planning activities, PI planning agenda, cross-team grooming sessions, Innovation Planning sprints, ART level demos, Product Manager Sync/ART level troika meetings etc.)
  • Define and track ART milestones, timelines, and deployment plans
  • Provide coaching to a team of atleast 5-6 SAFe Scrum Masters
  • Manage program scope (demand intake, documentation, change control, communication)
  • Act as the face of the ART and communicate progress to upper management and stakeholders
  • Act as liaison for all facets of the ART and pull people together to make decisions (Product, Operations, Technology, Commercial, Data Science, Client Deployment, Marketing, Sales etc.) throughout the program lifecyle (Pre-PI Planning, PI Planning and PI closure)
  • Facilitate cross-team prioritization between Stakeholders and Technology teams in order to create program execution plan/planning board and continue to manage throughout the program lifecycle
  • Ensure business objectives are clearly defined and that the program meets them
  • Adhere to standard program management processes, best practices, and tools to the organization, including architecture, cybersecurity, and quality
  • Facilitate conversations to ensure Cross Functional Team Dependencies are tracked, identifying gaps, and mitigating or escalating risks
  • Track and communicate ART objectives and progress (Program Status, Initiative level Jira Boards, and Project Plans)
  • Facilitate Scrum of Scrum meetings, execute release level retrospectives
  • Track and ensure prompt resolution of issues
  • Implement Agile and SAFe methodologies, including PI planning facilitation, agile ceremonies, process improvements
  • Execute production readiness (Sign-off & Documentation)
  • Communicate agile team metrics & drive compliance
  • Track and report on program financials, including resource planning

Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS:


  • 10+ years in program and project management or similar role running large projects in operations, technology or engineering
  • Practical experience with agile techniques and methodologies (SAFe Agile preferred)
  • Superior communication skills (interpersonal, verbal, presentation written, email)
  • Proven ability to influence & gain buy-in at multiple levels, across divisions, functions and cultures
  • Comfort working with senior-level management and virtual teams
  • Ability to prioritize, manage, and deliver on multiple projects simultaneously; highly motivated and able to work against aggressive schedules
  • Strong bias toward action, flexible, resourceful, and able to operate effectively within a dynamic, fast-paced environment
  • You are the glue of a happy, high-performing, cross-functional team
  • Positive attitude, team player, self-starter; takes initiative, ability to work independently
  • Experience configuring and using Jira or similar project tracking software
  • Preferred: data warehousing, cloud experience

EDUCATION:


  • Bachelor's degree in business, computer science, or related field
  • SAFe certifications (i.e. ASM, RTE, etc.) preferred
