The Platform Product Manager, Unified Communications, is a specialized Product Management role. The position is responsible for conceiving, designing and managing platform or infrastructure that serves as the linchpin for an array of offerings, products or programs. The Platform will be the
Primary Responsibilities:
Define and assist in developing the Platform product strategy, roadmap, goals and metrics that's based on market trands and strategic vision.
Develop long term roadmaps, feature requirements and coordinate sign-off with customer, stakeholders and engineering
Champion the Backend Platform requirements and Cross-Platform to deliver customer facing product features.
Responsible for managing the development and evolution of the following platforms and technologies associated:
Virtualization/Deployment Platform - OS, Podman, Cloud, VMs, Orchestration, Hardware
Common Service Platform - DB, Middleware, APIs etc
Monitoring and Observability Platform
Analytics Data Platform
Lifecycle Management of Platform across all Product lines.
Convert the strategy and strategic initiatives into well-developed plans and objectives over different time frames for the Platform
Capable of identifying unification of the platform across multiple product lines
Collaborate and define common Platform practices for applications/services adoption
Work with Procurement in a pseudo Vendor Management role for Platform roadmaps.
Coordinate with the local Product Management team to provide support from Platform perspective.
The successful candidate will drive the product platform evolution by understanding the market trends and the strategic direction. Candidates must be responsive, flexible and able to succeed in a fast-paced, collaborative environment without supervision.
Skills:
Technical Knowledge: Capable of understanding the various platform stacks, the structure and the interactions matrix.
Strategic Thinking: Capable of defining roadmaps that align to the strategic vision of the product and support growth. Identify and prioritize platform deliverables aligned to the product roadmaps.
Communication: Create user flows, wireframes, high fidelity mockups, prototyping and detailed requirements specifications for Platform product. Understand target users deeply to facilitate the seamless integration of applications, third party libraries and the platforms to meet various customer product offerings
Data Analysis: Be able to do comparative analysis of various Platform Stack/Product market offers and incorporate them in the roadmaps.
Cross-Functional Collaboration: Be a champion for platforms by partnering with cross functional teams to get solutions in front of users. Especially be able to collaborate with engineering, other product managers and Offer teams to drive developer efficiency.
Be single point of contact for "Platform" product perspective
Generic:
Must have 5+ years of Platform Product experience
Must have experience on creating wireframes, mockups and prototyping using tools like Figma, Lucidchart etc
Must have good understanding of platform technologies like Middleware, OS/Cloud Platform, APIs Platforms etc.
Must have a good understanding of Web Services like SOAP, REST APIs etc
Excellent written and oral communication skills
