We are looking for a talented senior motion graphics art director to help drive the creative vision for motion-based campaigns and brand storytelling that bring the State Street brand to life. This role requires expertise in motion design, art direction, and campaign execution, with a strong ability to lead visual narratives across digital and video platforms. The ideal candidate will collaborate with diverse teams across marketing, communications, content and thought leadership globally to create compelling content for sales engagements, events, campaigns and digital channels.


This position requires concepting and creating cutting-edge modern motion content and video, in-line with our brand standards, from storyboarding to design, assembly, editing, color grading and production management. You will control the production process end-to-end, ensuring quality execution and efficient workflows.


You will report to the Head of Creative Services in State Street’s Global Marketing organization (Hyderabad) and work closely with the Boston creative and video teams. We work four days a week from office, and one day from home.

What you will be responsible for


As Motion Graphics Art Director and Designer, you will be responsible for:


  • Motion Design & Art Direction: Lead the motion and animation process for motion-based campaigns and motion elements of live videos, social posts and digital signage, ensuring high-quality execution.


  • Brand Storytelling: Develop compelling motion narratives that align with the brand’s visual identity and campaign objectives.


  • Campaign Execution: Oversee the end-to-end motion design process, from concept development to final delivery.


  • Video & Animation Direction: Direct motion graphics, animation teams, and video editors to create engaging content.


  • Vendor & Production Collaboration: Work with agencies, production houses, and animation studios to bring creative visions to life.


  • Voiceover & Audio Direction: Guide voiceover artists and sound designers to ensure cohesive storytelling.


  • Cross-functional Teamwork: Partner with marketing, brand and creative, and media teams to develop motion-first content strategies. Collaborate with the internal and client account teams, leadership and peers to envision, create and deliver scalable, on-brand graphic, motion and video design solutions that will deliver across State Street’s corporate website, intranet, events, social media platforms and more.



What we value

  • Technical Skills: Expert in Adobe After Effects and associated plug-ins, Premiere Pro, Davinci Resolve, Cinema 4D, and other motion design tools (Blender and Adobe Dimension are nice-to-haves).


  • Creative Leadership: Ability to develop and present motion design concepts.


  • Production Expertise: Expert in After-effects production workflows, animation techniques, and post-production processes.


  • Extreme organization of files, processes and workflow.


  • Communication Skills: Ability to articulate creative ideas and provide clear direction to teams and external partners.


  • Proactive, strategic thinker with an analytical mindset and a rigorous approach


  • Leader in animation fundamentals, best practices and trends


  • Ability to coach and develop designers to raise the bar on conceptual thinking and sophisticated execution


  • High attention to detail and a relentless drive to innovate



Education & Preferred Qualifications


  • Experience: 10+ years in motion design, art direction, or animation, preferably in an agency or brand-focused role.


  • Experience leading motion campaigns across digital, social, and traditional media.


  • Expert animation, typography, and video editing best practices.


  • Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in audio-visual communications, graphic design or motion design or commensurate design experience along with a bachelor’s degree in any field


  • A compelling demo/show reel is required and must be hosted on YouTube or Vimeo to be considered.
