Overview This role requires a unique set of skills and capabilities, associating a solid understanding of the data modelling and engineering tasks needed to deliver a global enterprise data & analytics solution, combined with functional finance business knowledge. As the Global function S&T team grows and evolves to partner with and support the Finance of the Future program, we need to ensure we bring & keep this type of talent. The role plans, leads & coordinates the technical deliverables across one or more workstreams related to the SPOT (Single Point of Truth) finance data repositories, working with one or more delivery partners that may be PepsiCo employees, PepsiCo contractors, or third parties engaged by PepsiCo. Work is delivered via agile methodologies (typically using the Scaled Agile ‘SAFe’ framework) and as such this role will work alongside one or more Product Managers (PM’s) and/or one or more Scrum Masters (SM’s) to ensure our technical delivery teams and partners are focused on the right priorities, bringing any concerns back to the PM’s and SM’s for escalation where needed. This role translates business functional requirements into technical deliveries detailed in a series of ‘User Stories’ documented in Azure Dev Ops (ADO) with respective descriptions, acceptance criteria and effort estimations. This role will also focus on the evolution of the Release and Change Management process so that all stakeholders have better visibility of when work will be released to production and in reporting the business value added with each release. This role is critical for the Digital Planning transformation journey and will work across multiple workstreams. Scope and accountabilities: As SPOT expands, the scope of the role includes supporting the following: SPOT 1.0 – global financial reporting based on Hyperion global consolidation data. SPOT 1.5 – global reporting based on various sources of business unit data. SPOT 2.0 – global reporting based on TM1 budgeting & forecasting data. SPOT AI – integration of AI Forecasting into SPOT 1.0/2.0. Migration from Teradata to Azure cloud-based architecture. Integration of new data sets into the finance data lake. Additionally this role should also: Uplift the capability of the team through improving the efficiency and oversight of technical deliverables. Step change Release Management across the different workstreams. Lift & shift existing designs to avoid duplication. Influence how the team delivers technical stories to help the program become best-in-class. Working with engineers and business teams to identify process improvement opportunities, propose system modifications, and devise data governance strategies. Proactively identifies impediments and looks for pragmatic and constructive solutions to mitigate risk. Coach and develop junior Data Engineers and Data Analysts in the team. SPOT is the backbone behind Cockpit which is a key pillar of the global digital reporting transformation program, the aim of which is to fundamentally evolve our planning and reporting capabilities such that: all BUs are on a single standardized reporting platform, enabling real-time, decision support, creating efficiency by eliminating Excel, PPT and PDF business reviews/reporting and delivering a user-friendly, agile performance management tool. Responsibilities Lead the delivery of technical implementation and sustain activity across SPOT workstreams: Work with SPOT & Cockpit product owners, SPOT product management team and other business stakeholders to prepare the technical user stories as part of PI planning, with descriptions, acceptance criteria and story point estimations. Coordinate the allocation of user stories to individual team members and ensure deliverables remain on track, raising any blockers at the DSU and with relevant stakeholders. Working with engineers and business teams to identify process improvement opportunities, propose system modifications, and devise data governance strategies. Proactively identifies impediments and looks for pragmatic and constructive solutions to mitigate risk. Coach & grow the SPOT data analysis & engineering team: Uplift the capability of the team through improving the efficiency and oversight of technical deliverables. Step change Release Management across the different workstreams. Lift & shift existing designs to avoid duplication. Influence how the team delivers technical stories to help the program become best-in-class. Qualifications The Global SPOT Portfolio Delivery Lead requires a unique skill set: Passion for data and problem solving, with sharp analytical skills and the ability to bring team with you. A good communicator and a good people person given the need to collaborate effectively across teams and people of diverse backgrounds. Experience/Knowledge with building datalake solutions on any cloud platform. Experience with handling new developments and maintaining sustainability of existing processes. Pioneer and innovative mindset required as we are shaping the future of data use within PepsiCo – comfortable with the uncomfortable. Strong experience coordinating deliverables through geographically & culturally diverse teams. Minimum 5 years prior experience with data warehouse development, data modelling & data transformation. Strong analytical skills – demonstrated ability to interpret business requirements into performant business solutions. Minimum 5 years of experience with the following technical data engineering skills: Azure Data Factory Azure Data Bricks SQL Python Knowledge of AI modeling, database structure/management principles and applications. Experience delivering finance solutions, with a solid knowledge of FP&A processes and terminology. Ability to grow and coach junior team members. Working within an Agile program and project. Ability to operate autonomously and proactively, managing multiple deliverables at a single time in a fast-paced, results-oriented environment. Role will face several issues that require evaluative thinking, where depth of experience will be a key factor. Ability to operate collaboratively across multiple stakeholder groups / boundaries. Tactical/functional/system decision making without day-to-day reference to Manager. Able to work
