Job Description

Visa’s Acceptance Solutions Professional Services (ASPS) solves problems and accelerates innovation and growth for our merchants, acquirers, partners, and payment technology providers by providing a range of services including consulting, technology, and business transformation, developing target state architectures, customer journey mapping, solution development, product acceleration, software development, testing, migration, implementation, and value realization.


We are in search of inquisitive, creative, and skillful technologists to join our ranks. We are currently looking for a Sr Manager of Software Engineering and Delivery who will take the lead and manage several strategic initiatives for Visa and our clients.


Roles and Responsibilities: 


·      As an engineering lead, you will lead initiatives to develop, enhance, and build solutions in an agile development environment.


·      Present technical solutions, capabilities, considerations, and features in business terms. Effectively communicate status, issues, and risks in a precise and timely manner.


·      Responsible for the overall development life cycle with significant bottom-line impact.


·      Build a culture of engineering excellence (quality, security, performance, scalability, availability, resilience etc.) across your own teams and the entire organization.


·      Drive release planning exercise, track development and testing to timely releases.


·      Present technical solutions, capabilities, considerations, and features in business terms. Effectively communicate status, issues, and risks in a precise and timely manner.


·      Be the key contact overseeing customer engagements day-to-day, applying your technical expertise to drive vision into action and results. We seek a leader who can take responsibility for team performance, develop effective working relationships, deliver technical capabilities adhering to company values, and maintain professionalism.


·      Be the bridge and core technical contact point for Development, QA Engineering Leadership, Product Management, Solution Architecture, and PMO for on-going and upcoming program features implementation.


·      Actively oversee development & testing activities for feature development, bug fixing and ensure delivery of on-time, high-quality, secure code.


·      Lead and provide technical mentoring to developers and QA testers for software development and test automation best practices.


·      Contribute to high and low level design, development, testing and implementation of new software solutions as well as enhancements / defect resolution.


·      Drive manual and test automation for functional, integration, regression, load and performance testing to improve quality metrics.


·      Support developers and QA testers in troubleshooting urgent Sandbox and Production issues and drive stakeholder communication.


·      Help plan team backlog work and oversee adherence to Agile / Scrum process every sprint and be able to unblock the team for software delivery.


·      Drive projects that involve full stack development using technology such as Java, Spring, NodeJS, Microservices, Rest based APIs, frontend frameworks etc.


·      Experience working in a strong DevOps culture is a plus.


·      Drive solution architecture and technical architecture with product owners, engineers, and technical product managers to scale products to highly functional, secure, performant, and resilient platforms.


  This is a hybrid position. Hybrid employees can alternate time between both remote and office. Employees in hybrid roles are expected to work from the office 2-3 set days a week (determined by leadership/site), with a general guidepost of being in the office 50% or more of the time based on business needs.



Qualifications

Basic Qualifications
• 8+ years of relevant work experience with a Bachelor’s Degree or at least 5 years of experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD)
• At least 2 + years of experience in leading engineering team
Preferred Qualifications
• Proven experience delivering large scale, highly available production software.
• Ability to handle multiple competing priorities in a fast-paced environment
• A deep understanding of end-to-end software development in a team, and a track record of shipping software on time
• Strong technology and leadership background building enterprise scale applications using Java, Springboot, Spring Core, Spring MVC, REST / SOAP APIs, and RDBMS.
• Preferred expertise with AWS, Angular/ReactJS, NoSQL, Kafka and Data Pipelines.
• Payment processing background desirable but not required
• Experience working in an Agile and Test-Driven Development environment. Strong business and technical vision
• Strong understanding of software architectures and design patterns.
• Experience with creating Proof of Concepts (PoCs).
• Knowledge of industry-standard technologies.
• Proficiency in SQL and understanding of other database technologies like NoSQL, Oracle, MongoDB etc.
• Strong communication skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts related to data architecture to non-technical team members.
• Experience with data modeling tools.
• Strong understanding of data architectures and design patterns
• Experience with machine learning is plus.
• Excellent problem-solving skills.
