ABOUT THE ROLE
Role Description:

As the Senior Manager leading the Indirect Materials procurement team in India, you will strategically steer and execute procurement initiatives that align with Amgen’s global strategies. This role involves high-level strategic oversight and hands-on management of assigned categories of spend, driving efficiency, sustainability, and cost-effectiveness across our supply chain.
Roles & Responsibilities:
- Strategic Leadership: Develop and refine high-level procurement strategies for assigned categories of indirect materials, ensuring they align with global business objectives and operational efficiency.
- Category Management: Take full ownership of assigned categories, from strategy development through to supplier negotiation and spend analysis.
- Team Management: Oversee the local indirect materials procurement team, setting strategic goals, and driving team performance towards achieving key organizational targets.
- Stakeholder Collaboration: Build strong relationships with senior stakeholders across the organization to ensure strategic alignment and effective execution of procurement initiatives.
- Supplier Strategy Development: Formulate and implement robust supplier management strategies that ensure optimal terms and performance, supporting the organization's cost and quality objectives.
- Cross-Functional Integration: Act as a key interface between procurement and other departments, ensuring that procurement strategies support wider business goals and contribute to overall success.
- Market Insight and Strategy Adaptation: Continuously analyze industry trends and supply market dynamics to adapt procurement strategies proactively, enhancing the organization’s competitive position.
- Innovation and Process Improvement: Champion innovative practices and continuous improvement within the procurement function, leveraging cutting-edge technologies and process enhancements to increase efficiency and effectiveness.
- Regulatory Compliance and Ethical Sourcing: Ensure that all procurement practices adhere to international and local regulations and align with Amgen's ethical standards and sustainability goals.

Must Have Skills
- Category Knowledge: Indirect category knowledge preferably in life sciences.
- Proven Stakeholder Engagement: Demonstrated success in building and maintaining strong relationships with key internal stakeholders across various business units.
- Category Strategy and Strategic Sourcing: Solid experience in developing category strategies, driving strategic sourcing, conducting complex negotiations, and managing global suppliers to drive organizational value.
- Team Leadership and Development: Demonstrated ability to lead, motivate, and develop a diverse procurement team, fostering a culture of high performance, continuous improvement, and alignment with business objectives.
- Project Management Skills: Strong capability in leading large-scale procurement projects, involving multiple stakeholders, from concept to completion.
- Analytical and Decision-Making Skills: Robust analytical skills to interpret complex data and make strategic decisions that align with organizational goals. Proficiency in Procurement Technologies: Experience utilizing procurement technologies such as ERP systems, e-procurement tools, and data analytics software (Workday Strategic Sourcing, SirionLabs, Ariba, SAP, Tableau etc.).

Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree.
- Bachelor’s degree and 4-6 years of Sourcing, Management Consulting, or Project Management
