Summary of the role


Are you looking for a challenging techno-managerial role? Then we’ve one for you. We are looking for a seasoned “Senior Manager: Engineering”, who will be accountable for leading multiple engineering teams / epics, working in SAFe Agile, and responsible for designing, developing, maintaining, and operating the IAM platform (Administration) and other security solutions. This platform deals with over 20 million users and sustains 20K transactions per second at peak time. Services delivered by the CIAM are used by all product engineering divisions and especially Mission Critical Applications. The level of expected stability, resiliency, efficiency, and scalability is extremely high.


Common accountabilities


  • Identify and run continuous improvement initiatives to improve the quality of technology deliverables, improve efficiency and productivity of the team.
  • Accountable for the budget, Influences the resource, sets concrete development plans for the team members.
  • Has a mid/long-term vision of the activity and the business, influences the department's strategy based on a broad understanding of the environment.  
  • Works with high level of autonomy. Proactively identify risks and mitigate the risks.
  • Suggest alternatives / improvements / new techniques in processes, flows, operational models and plans
  • Define and share the technical / functional team roadmap and vision according to the department/division/company objectives
  • Drive planning, project execution and development of technical talent.       
  • Timely and appropriate communication to team members regarding Amadeus & Business updates.

About the ideal candidate


The ideal candidate will be someone who has good technical as well as management expertise. Should have a background in designing, developing & deploying mission critical engineering applications in a highly demanding environment and managed a team size of over 15 people.


Education and Experience


  • Bachelors / master’s degree in engineering.
  • 15 + years of overall experience.
  • 7 +   years of experience in analysis, design, development of software systems in C++ / Java
  • 5 + years of experience in people management.
  • Experience in IAM domain will be a plus.

Required Skill


  • Strong Development background in C++ or Java.
  • Experience in managing software Development and Dev-Ops teams.
  • Experience in managing time critical product / platform and running the services at or above agreed service levels.
  • Collaborate with other software development, architecture, solutions, and QA teams across the locations Nice, Bangalore, Erding to ensure that software systems are designed for testability, stability, scalability, Operability and performance.
  • Experience in compliance with IT security policies.
  • Experience in incident & problem management process.
  • Customer focused.
  • Experience in Manage, motivate, coach & train team members – drive a culture of strong staff engagement.
  • Experience in setting team objectives and targets according to Division and Company objectives.
  • Experienced working in a matrix environment & partnering with other departments to derive maximum synergy across Amadeus Labs organization.
  • An excellent communicator who can have critical conversation with Peers and other relevant stake holders.
  • Highly accountable and enable the team to improve their productivity & predictability.
  • Plans, Prioritize & owns individual & group activities effectively.
  • Communicate & track delivery roadmap.
