Role Overview


We are seeking an experienced senior engineer to join the email services team. This role is critical in shaping the architecture, infrastructure and solution delivery of the email platform aimed at enhancing the overall experience of our services. These services encompass Microsoft Infrastructure products, including Azure, Office 365, ATP, Microsoft Intune, Exchange Server, Active Directory, and third-party email gateway solutions. The ideal candidate will possess a global mindset and demonstrate an ability to collaborate effectively with international teams and business units. This position requires an individual who can drive and lead projects to advance the product roadmap. This role also requires mentoring and guiding junior team members in resolving messaging issues.


What will you do in this role:


  • Provide core administration and escalation support for messaging services, focusing on Microsoft EOP/ATP in a global O365 cloud environment.
  • Manage incident and problem processes, ensuring ongoing operational excellence, infrastructure consolidation, and release/patch management.
  • Develop and execute production support procedures, including business continuity and disaster recovery plans.
  • Troubleshoot and administer MS Exchange servers (2016 and above), including resolving mail flow issues in hybrid environments.
  • Collaborate with engineers and operations staff to test, implement, and transition new services or upgrades related to email security in O365 ecosystem.
  • Anticipate service issues proactively and recommend resolutions.
  • Oversee the team and provide direction on Exchange-related issues and work processes.
  • Responsible for managing the global daily operations of the client’s messaging environment.
  • Manage Exchange Online mailboxes, including configuration of settings, mailbox quotas, inbox rules, and PowerShell usage.
  • Lead projects related to knowledge base creation to help reduce service desk incidents.
  • Mentor and guide new team members in resolving messaging issues.
  • Lead projects as an email subject matter expert.

What should you have:


  • 10+ years of practical experience with configuration/deployment/support of Microsoft Office 365 and Exchange 2016 / 2019
  • Demonstrate in-depth understanding of Microsoft Infrastructure products, including Azure, Office 365, ATP, Microsoft Intune, Exchange Server, Active Directory, and third-party email gateway solutions.
  • Possess strong knowledge of Microsoft Exchange On-Premises, Hybrid, and Office 365 for internal infrastructure.
  • Experience with internet gateways and message filtering/system hygiene.
  • Proficient in providing support for Exchange Online email environments.
  • Familiarity with email security and hygiene-related issues.
  • Understanding of complex, globally distributed email environments, including email protocols and routing concepts.
  • Experience with Cisco IronPort and Advanced Malware Protection (AMP).
  • Understanding of email authentication mechanisms, including DMARC, DKIM, and SPF.
  • Proficiency in Windows and Exchange PowerShell scripting.
  • Experience with Outlook Client and OWA.
  • Familiarity with group management products.
  • User account management and troubleshooting capabilities.
  • Knowledge of Mobility Email Active Sync and O365 email synchronization with the cloud.
  • Strong documentation and troubleshooting skills.
  • Effective communication skills with various project stakeholders, including IT leadership, business customers, team members, and other IT colleagues.
  • Must have good organizational skills and the ability to follow-through on projects with minimal supervision.
  • Strong collaboration, presentation, and influencing skills.

Desired Skills:


  • Programming / Scripting knowledge a plus – Graph API, Wise Studio, AutoIt, VBscript, PowerShell, XML, CMD/Batch files
  • Capable of taking the initiative and working with minimal supervision in a highly demanding environment.
  • Possesses strong technical and analytical skills, with an ability to adapt and learn new technologies rapidly.
  • Adept at presenting technical ideas in a business-friendly and user-friendly language.
