Software Requirements:
- Solid understanding of object-oriented programming and design patterns.
- 8+ years of strong Java experience with Java 1.8 or higher version.
- Experience in Big Data technologies like HDFS, Hive, HBASE, Apache Spark, and Kafka.
- Proficient understanding of code versioning tools, such as Git.
- Experience with SCMs like GIT and tools like JIRA.
- Comfortable working with large data volumes and demonstrating a firm understanding of logical data structures and analysis techniques.
- Basic Unix OS and scripting knowledge.
Overall Responsibilities:
- Translate application storyboards and use cases into functional applications.
- Design, build, and maintain efficient, reusable, and reliable Java code.
- Ensure the best possible performance, quality, and responsiveness of the applications.
- Identify bottlenecks and bugs, and devise solutions to these problems.
- Develop high-performance & low latency components to run Spark clusters.
- Interpreting functional requirements into design approaches that can be served through the Big Data platform.
- Collaborate and partner with Global Teams based across different locations.
- Propose best practices and standards; handover to the operations.
- Perform the testing of software prototypes and transfer to the operational team.
- Process data using Hive, Impala, and HBASE.
- Perform analysis of large data sets and derive insights.
Category-wise Technical Skills:
Core Java & Multithreading:
- Strong Core Java & Multithreading working experience.
- Knowledge of concurrency patterns & multithreading in Java.
Big Data Technologies:
- Experience in HDFS, Hive, HBASE, Apache Spark, and Kafka.
- Experience in building self-service platform-agnostic data access APIs.
Data Standards & Architecture:
- Service-oriented architecture, and data standards like JSON, Avro, Parquet.
- Strong systems analysis, design and architecture fundamentals.
- Application performance tuning, troubleshooting experience, and implementation in the Big Data domain.
Database & SQL:
- Experience in RDMS and NoSQL databases.
- Good knowledge of database principles, practices, structures including SQL development experience preferably with Oracle.
Agile/Scrum Methodology:
- Agile/Scrum methodology experience is required.
Optional Skills:
- Familiarity with Arcadia Tool for Analytics.
- Familiarity with cloud and container technologies.
- Familiarity with build tools such as Maven and continuous integration like Jenkins/Team City.
Experience:

Qualification:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Relevant certifications in software development, big data technologies, or agile methodologies are a plus.

- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
- Ability to mentor and assist other developers within the team.
- Demonstrated ability to write reliable, manageable, and high-performance code.
- Proficient in understanding fundamental design principles behind scalable applications.
