The Packing and Dispatch Senior Executive is responsible for overseeing the efficient and accurate packaging, labeling, and dispatching of products. This role requires managing the daily packing operations, ensuring that all goods are correctly packed to meet quality standards, coordinating with warehouse teams, and ensuring timely dispatch of orders. The role also involves supervising a team and ensuring compliance with company policies and safety regulations.
You will be part of the manufacturing India Team - who supports Capital and Service operations, warehouse, and logistics. By joining this team, you will have the chance to work in an international environment involving different cultures and different challenges. This department works closely with both our internal and external customers to ensure FLSmidth equipment driving to improve our on-time performance and minimize risk to the company.
Your responsibilities
Packing Operations:
Oversee and manage the entire packing process, ensuring products are packed securely, accurately, and efficiently.
Monitor packaging standards to prevent damage during transit and meet client specifications.
Collaborate with quality control to ensure goods meet packaging and shipping standards.
Logistics Coordination:
Plan, schedule, and coordinate logistics operations to ensure timely and cost-effective movement of goods.
Optimize transportation routes to reduce costs and delivery times.
Coordinate with third-party logistics providers, couriers, and transport teams to manage inbound and outbound shipments.
Dispatch Management:
Oversee the daily dispatch operations, ensuring that all orders are dispatched on time and in line with delivery schedules.
Track shipments and ensure the safe delivery of goods to customers or retailers.
Troubleshoot any delivery or dispatch issues to ensure timely resolution.
Inventory and Material Control:
Ensure accurate stock levels of packaging materials, products, and dispatch supplies.
Collaborate with warehouse and procurement teams to maintain inventory accuracy.
Implement best practices in stock control, ensuring proper handling and storage.
Team Supervision and Leadership:
Lead and manage the packing, logistics, and dispatch teams, ensuring staff efficiency and productivity.
Provide training, coaching, and task allocation to team members, ensuring all personnel understand operational goals.
Conduct performance evaluations and manage team development initiatives.
Process Optimization and Cost Control:
Continuously assess packing, logistics, and dispatch processes to improve efficiency and reduce operational costs.
Implement lean principles or other methodologies to enhance workflow and optimize resource use.
Identify areas for process improvement and work with cross-functional teams to streamline operations.
Documentation and Reporting:
Advance packing list for logistics planning & Final Packing list.
Logistics BOM study and mapping packing plans.
Ensure all packing, dispatch, and logistics documentation, such as invoices, packing lists, and delivery notes, are accurately prepared.
Maintain records of all outbound shipments, inventory levels, and packing materials.
Generate regular reports on dispatch timeliness, shipment accuracy, and packing productivity for management review.
Customer Satisfaction and Issue Resolution:
Collaborate with customer service and sales teams to resolve any order discrepancies, delivery issues, or customer complaints.
Ensure that urgent or high-priority orders are handled promptly to meet customer expectations.
Compliance and Safety:
Ensure packing, dispatch, and logistics activities comply with health, safety, and regulatory standards.
Conduct regular safety checks within the warehouse and packing areas to maintain a safe working environment.
Maintain compliance with environmental and transportation regulations.
Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, logistics, business administration, or a related field. Advanced degree or professional certification is a plus.
Proven experience (3-4 years) in Logistics & Packaging.
Strong knowledge of Packaging principles, logistics processes, and warehouse operations best practices.
Proficiency in warehouse management systems (WMS), enterprise resource planning (ERP) software, and other relevant technology tools.
Excellent communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively manage a diverse team and collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders.
Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to addressing challenges and driving continuous improvement.
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment, prioritize tasks, and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Knowledge of safety regulations and compliance requirements related to warehouse operations.
Flexibility to adapt to changing business needs and willingness to take on new responsibilities as required.
