REPRESENTATIVE ACTIVITIES: Activities and duties will vary dependent upon functional area assigned. Activities may include, but are not limited to:
YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES WILL INCLUDE:
EHS Policy and Standards Implementation:
Support the EHS Manager in driving the implementation of EHS policies and standards across all manufacturing sites.
Assist in developing and updating EHS management systems to meet Avery Dennison standards and relevant certifications.
Audits and Inspections:
Coordinate and conduct EHS system audits and inspections.
Ensure zero non compliance during the customer audits/
Support for ISO 14001 and 45001 implementation in the manufacturing sites.
Assist in identifying non-compliances and areas for improvement, ensuring corrective actions are implemented timely.
Regulatory Compliance:
Liaise with relevant government officials to ensure compliance with statutory and regulatory requirements.
Maintain necessary documentation and records to support compliance efforts.
EHS Program Coordination:
Collaborate with site/unit Managers to implement EHS programs on Injury prevention, Fire Safety , Behaviour safety etc.
Monitor the effectiveness of EHS programs and recommend improvements as needed.
Incident Investigation:
Participate in accident and incident investigations, identifying root causes and recommending corrective actions.
Ensure timely implementation of corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) to achieve zero-accident status.
Safety Audits and Risk Assessments:
Periodically conduct safety audits to identify unsafe conditions and drive CAPA implementation.
Conduct risk assessments and hazard analyses for current operations, recommending and ensuring the implementation of corrective actions.
Training and Awareness:
Assist in planning and executing the EHS training calendar.
Deliver EHS training to employees, enhancing their awareness and understanding of EHS practices.
EHS Culture and Improvement Initiatives:
Promote a positive EHS culture by supporting various performance improvement initiatives and employee engagement activities.
Evaluate new and advanced systems and technologies to drive continuous improvements in EHS performance.
Work Permit System and Waste Management:
Implement the EHS work permit system and ensure compliance.
Support the management of the fire hydrant system, fire alarm system, sewage and water treatment plants.
Drive actions towards solid waste management, focusing on reduction, recycle, reuse, and replace options.
EHS Reporting and Documentation:
Manage EHS-related MIS and KPIs, ensuring accurate and timely documentation as per internal EHS systems.
Prepare periodic performance reports for local and global teams.
Ensure timely updates of EHS portals within the organization.
WHAT WE WILL BE LOOKING FOR IN YOU:
Bachelor’s degree Engineering with Masters/diploma in Occupational Health and Safety/Environmental Science or a related field.
Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in an EHS role within a manufacturing environment.
Working knowledge in ISO 14001 / ISO 45001 systems.
Candidate should have working experience in Plant/ Manufacturing Unit.
Strong knowledge of EHS regulations, standards, and best practices.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Proficiency in EHS management systems and software.
Proficiency in applicable computer systems such as Google workspace and Microsoft Office..
Tamil Language is must for the role.
