A Day in the LifeThe Software Engineer will be a member of the Engineering R&D team working on the development and support of medical devices. Software Engineers work closely with other members of the engineering staff to provide technical solutions to engineering problems. The Software Engineer will participate in the creation of design documentation, software code, test plans, and other project artifacts.
Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned
- Participates, as a member of software project or sub-project team(s), in the development of backend application to interface with a frontend UI for software applications
- Should have great reading comprehension and technical skills
- Good at interpreting and understanding human behavior.
- Adheres to defined development procedures to generates high-quality work products.
- Translates requirements/specifications into design, and ultimately software.
- Participates in requirements, design and code reviews as they pertain to software UI designs.
- Participates in other activities, such as performing hazard and risk analysis, reviews of designs and tests, etc.
- Demonstrates good coding practices.
Required Knowledge and Experience
- Extensive experience with Backend application software development in Rust
- Good hands-on experience in Rust/ Typescript/ C++ /Java
- Good knowledge on message broker frameworks like RabbitMQ and RPC frameworks like gRPC
- Good understanding of integration of backend services with front-end applications
- Experience on React and Tauri framework a plus
- Proficiency in object-oriented programming and Software Design Patterns
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define software requirements, design and architecture.
- Experience with code optimization and refactoring for performance and reliability.
- Experience with projects that require hardware /software interfacing through UI
- Candidate should be knowledgeable and have experience in software engineering processes and software life cycle in general.
- Medical device development experiences a plus
- Experience with a documented software development processes or familiarity with FDA and ISO standards is a plus
- Good communication skills
