Mechanical Engineering group at WITEC, supports a multitude of business units across the globe and various projects/product lines, in the mechanical design, drawing generation and finite element (FE) calculation areas. As a key member of this group dealing with providing design & detailing solutions for business problems & new development, the job responsibilities are laid out as hereunder:
Key Result Areas:
Make delivering projects as per the cost & schedule targets set by the Business units a priority and ensure the desired quality in the output is met consistently
Works independently, provides guidance within and across the organization and aids in creating new solutions in complex situations
Interprets internal or external business issues and recommends solutions and best practices for cross functional organization. Seeks opportunities for process and quality improvement to deliver long term benefit to business.
Detailed design of assemblies and products considering the specified manufacturing technology, materials, technical standards as well as regulations and laws.
Further development and optimisation of existing systems and components according to customer and market requirements
Derive the R&D needs according to the technical vison. Develops Design Guides
Provides Real time meaningful insights to develop & motivate team members
Detailing and preparation of technical documentation as well as risk analyses
Ability to make accurate mechanical engineering drawings and create bills of material for ordering
Support different activities for analysis, proposals, manufacturing, assembly, tooling, and inspection
Should have knowledge of sheet metal parts manufacturing, casting design & machined parts manufacturing
Should have good understanding of Design for Manufacturablility & Assembly (DFMA) principles
Should be able to clearly understand the inputs and estimate hours required for execution
Should have knowledge on GD&T as per ASME / EN standards
Should have good knowledge on materials including carbon and stainless steel, heat treatment process
