A Day in the LifeMedtronic’s Mechanical Circulatory Support (MCS) group is looking for a motivated electrical engineer to work in a Product Engineering role in Release product engineering /continuation/sustaining engineering for Ventricular Assist Device systems. You will lead product improvement and remediation efforts serving our patients and will work closely with the project management office, engineering, and contract manufacturing sites. You will be able to dive in deep technically and contribute to design and process change initiatives in a cross functional fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned
- Deliver on quality or CAPA initiatives using technical knowledge, critical thinking skills, and intelligent risk skills.
- Manage major/moderately complex features within a project or CAPA, involving delegation of work and review of work products, at times acting as a team leader.
- Lead and/or act as a SME for investigations of root causes for a wide range of issues, including but not limited to aspects of electrical, mechanical, software/firmware, systems, user-related, or manufacturing.
- Assess supplier driven changes, component changes, and component obsolescence for potential impact to products.
- Review and analyze circuit schematics, printed circuit boards, and technical specifications.
- Evaluate returned product to determine the root cause of field returns and establish design improvements as needed.
- Define system/device requirements, interface requirements, and traceability.
- Create or review verification and validation plans/protocols, test method validations, and reports.
- Assess or review the impact of changing standards on existing products and assess the impact of changes in medical products against existing standards.
- Support activities for design changes, remediation projects, or programs.
- Work with internal and external development partners, manufacturers, and suppliers.
- Quickly react and resolve issues based on changing priorities to assure quality and continuity of supply.
- Champion consistent implementation of the Quality System and advocate for best practices and continuous improvement.
- Effective in written and oral communication; experienced in report writing and effective presentation skills.
Required Knowledge and Experience
- BTech/ BE in Electrical Engineering or another Engineering with a strong focus in electronics
- Minimum of 8 years of relevant experience
- Broad technical skills in the Electrical Engineering
- Willingness to work in a continuation & Release product engineering role.
- Experience in a controlled environment, preference to previous medical device experience.
