Description

EssenceMediacom is an agency of GroupM, the world’s largest media investment company and are a part of WPP. In fact, we are responsible for one in every three ads you see globally.We are currently looking for a Senior Business Director – Strategy to join us. In this role, you will be part of the central strategy team, based out of Mumbai.

Reporting of the role
This role reports to: Chief Strategy Officer, EssenceMediacom

In this role, your goals will be:
In six months:

  • Deep understanding of Essencemediacom suite of offerings across strategy function along with practical application. This includes tools for audience insights, measurement, forecasting, etc.
  • Demonstrate ability to craft relevant audience strategies including use of 1st/2nd and 3rd party data.
  • Present a customised strategy project to 3-4 key clients of EM in spaces of strategy & consulting.
  • Create intelligence pieces around topics related to media that are externally published 
In 12 months
  • Pick a specialised stream within strategy to champion across all EM clients including consultative selling, workshops, partner engagement and proposal writing (Eg: FPD consulting)
  • Drive strategy awards for work done on key clients
  • Working with senior leadership at the agency to improve agency product.
What your day job looks like at GroupM:
  • Engage with strategy leadership to identify key projects that you will lead
  • Explore all relevant tools/products within GroupM and external to craft solutions
  • Collaborate with other disciplines to enrich understanding and how the solution can be activated. This can extend to GroupM/WPP and external partners
  • Present the solution in a compelling way to end customer (Client) with clear next steps and action points.
What you’ll bring:
  • Extremely well-read, well informed about marketing trends, having a strong pov on brand building, business models, growth cycles and emerging role of technology in marketing
  • Excellent presentation skills – Drafting whitepapers, generating case studies, independently building a client-centric perspective, ability to confidently present to senior management
  • Disciplined and process-oriented

Minimum qualifications:


  • 10-12 years with a digital marketing background – exposure to martech, data partnerships is a plus.
  • Strategy experience related to consulting, measurement projects (MMM), digital analytics preferred
  • Strong credentials in marketing fundamentals
  • Exposure to multiple categories preferred - CPG, D2C, Retail, Auto
