About the Role:


In this opportunity asSenior Director-Data & BI Platformyou will:


We are seeking an experienced and strategic leader to oversee the development and operation of our Data and Business Intelligence (BI) Platform. As the Senior Director, Data & BI Platform, you will be responsible for building and managing a high-performing team of software and platform engineers, evolving our Data & BI Platforms, and ensuring the strategic implementation of business intelligence tools and processes.


Responsibilities:


Data and BI Platform Evolution:


  • Lead the evolution of our Data & BI Platforms to streamline and accelerate end-to-end data pipelines.
  • Enhance the ingestion, transformation, and consumption of enterprise structured and unstructured data.
  • Ensure best practices in data governance and collaborate with data and analytics teams to enhance data services.

Team Building and Development:


  • Recruit, onboard, and develop a high-performing engineering team.
  • Integrate new hires with existing staff to create a cohesive unit capable of managing complex data platform services.
  • Identify and nurture talent to handle responsibilities effectively.

Fostering Employee Ownership:


  • Cultivate a strong sense of ownership within the in-house team
  • Encourage team members to consider long-term implications and customer needs, leading to improved service quality and operational efficiency.

Operational Excellence:


  • Implement effective processes and workflows to streamline operations and improve service delivery.
  • Emphasize clear communication and organized project management for smooth transitions and continuous improvement.

Engineering Best Practices:


  • Lead initiatives on testing and monitoring of data & reporting flows to ensure reliability and efficiency.
  • Implement engineering best practices to maintain high standards of quality and performance.

Stakeholder Management:


  • Manage relationships with leadership, architects, product owners, and business users.
  • Align different perspectives and priorities to ensure the success of platform improvements.

BI Tooling and Process Enhancement:


  • Assess internal BI tooling needs and rationalize the existing estate.
  • Enhance and streamline business intelligence tools, processes, and implement them strategically.
  • Continuously challenge and evolve the existing platform capabilities and keep up to date with new offerings.

About You


You’re a fit for the role of Senior Director-Data & BI Platform​, if your background includes:


Qualifications:


  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • 10+ years of experience in Digital, Data, Analysis, and/or Technology, with a focus on data and analytics.
  • Proven experience in leading data platform services and evolving data pipelines.
  • Expertise in building data models and end-to-end BI workflows.
  • Knowledge of BI tools such as Power BI, Tableau, SQL, and other languages/applications necessary to create dashboards and reports.
  • Experience with CI/CD, DevOps, and Agile methodologies.
  • Thorough understanding of data and systems infrastructures, including cloud (AWS, GCP) and BII & Data Platforms.
  • Strong skills in recruiting, developing, and motivating high-performing teams.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage complex data platform services and foster a culture of ownership.
  • Experience in implementing operational processes and workflows for service improvement.
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills, with the ability to align diverse perspectives.
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills with a focus on end-user experience.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills for effective updates and outcomes communication.
