Senior Development Manager

Introduction
IBM Storage Protect mission in IBM Systems Development Lab, India is looking for Senior Product Architect, who is passionate about and deeply skilled in Data Resiliency & Data Protection. Focus is on building, enhancing and maintaining the software tha helps in taking backups and restor of workloads like Enterprise Application and Packages, DBs, Virtual Environments i.e VMs, Physical Servers. These are to be backed up and restored from Hard Drives, COS, Tapes and vendor specific storage h/w and s/w products (IBM and others a plus).

Your Role and Responsibilities
You will be leading development/test/performance teams working on various areas of Storage Protect. IBM Storage Protect is a time tested industry-leading data protection and resiliency platform. This whole mission is based out of ISDL and we are busy improving the quality and customer satisfaction on the capabilities that are already out there. In addition, we are passionately working towards adding new capabilities to the product so that it can continue to provide value to our customers when it comes to Tapes, Disks, Cloud Object Storages. Apart from personnel management & drive new enhancements, this role will also require to handle issues reported by the customers in the field & work closely with the global stakeholders.

This role focuses on ensuring high quality and availability of the product features and components as well as partnering with the Product Management and other Global stakeholders. It will involve collaboration across Software/Hardware/Storage teams, the leadership team on organization wide initiatives, working with external/internal sponsor users and customers during critical situations.

Required Technical and Professional Expertise
Having experience in Product Engg/Development is a must, apart from that here are some specific expectations:

• 16+ years of relevant experience of working on Enterprise Class Products, experience in dealing with products that involve system skills will be an added advantage.
• Good knowledge of Storage Software, Virtualization and Backup/Restore systems and practices.
• Excellent people management skills and ability to provide technical guidance to a team of experienced professionals. Experience in leading/managing a team of QA, development and support engineers.
• Ability to handle multiple scrum teams and scrum of scrums.
• Proficiency in planning, tracking and supervising outcome-oriented activities during the course of product development and support cycles.
• Ability to design and implement techniques and processes to collect and report on various metrics related to resourcing, scheduling and release aspects of product development and support activities.
• Proficiency in tools like gitHub/Jira/RTC/MS-Project is a must.
• Foster product nnovation.
• Excellent Communication, people management and leadership skills.
