Role: Senior Designer - Structural Production Engineering - Global Service Centre
1. Job Objectives (Summary of overall job purpose)
Responsible for managing, controlling teaching and checking of a group of Designers in line with project and department requirements as instructed by structural and /or outfitting engineers.
2. Key Responsibilities Policies, Processes & Procedures:
Follow all relevant departmental policies, processes, standard operating procedures and instructions so that work is carried out in a controlled and consistent manner.
Follow and comply to information Security Rules and data security measures in order to protect the company information / intellectual properties.
Day- to-day operations:
Prepare engineering drawings, details, sections, charts and similar documents from rough sketches and specifications as directed and created by structural and outfitting engineers.
Coordinate and teach structural designers to ensure that department related standards are followed.
Prepare and verify detailed production design including 3D models.
Produce and verify production fabrication and installation drawings.
Ensure that structural designers are carrying their assigned task as per project schedule requirements.
Revise drawings and layouts to accommodate changes and enhancements based on structural engineer request.
Prepare bill of materials, and weight calculations.
Inspect on-board vessel or assemblies for preparation, verification or improvement.
Follow the day-to-day operations related to own job to ensure continuity of work.
Safety, Quality & Environment:
Comply with all relevant safety, quality and environmental management policies, procedures and controls to ensure a healthy and safe work environment.
Related Assignments:
Enhance or improve related activities or assignments in order to reduce cost and man-hours consumptions.
3. Key Competencies Language skills:
Fluent knowledge of English Language.
Knowledge of other languages will be an added advantage.
Good technical competency and ability to generate reports.
Technical competencies:
Trained and knowledgeable with relevant Safety and Occupational Health & Safety standards.
Should be competent in both manual drawing skills as wells as computer based application, such as automated computer assisted drafting (CAD).
Thorough knowledge in both two dimensional and three dimensional techniques.
Conceptualization skills to visualize finished drawings and assigned projects.
Ability to generate complete discipline drawings with Engineer's advice.
Knowledge of geometry and architectural terminology is needed.
Demonstrated ability to handle multiple tasks and to meet required deadlines.
Demonstrated ability to organize, prioritize and successfully execute tasks in accordance with departmental / project objectives.

- Technical Diploma in relevant Engineering disciplines.

- Familiar with codes and standards like IACS/NORSOK/DIN/EN/JIS/
AWS D1 etc.
- Project Management, analytic skills.
- Good on Microsoft Office tools.

Experience
- Minimum 5 years relevant experience in shipyard, offshore / Oil & Gas industry in design office.
- Experience in producing engineering design and production drawings for Ships and Offshore structures.
- 6 years and above working experience in major production / construction sites and heavy industrial segments of high value.
