Senior Design Manager
In this role you lead a team of User Experience Designers in the Image Guided Therapy (IGT) Systems Business Unit. This team consists of world-class Designers from the awarded Philips Experience Design community and is responsible for the User Experience, Product, and Service experience design of all IGT Systems’ innovations and product lines. In this role, you will report to the IGT Systems R&D Design Director based out of Best (Netherlands).
Your role:
Leading the Experience Designers in the Image Guided Therapy Systems (IGT-S) R&D Design team in Bangalore as the line manager, including KAR setting, Performance Management, and the first line escalation path;
Acting as an inspiring thought leader in the area of competence by keeping abreast of design competence developments through literature and design benchmarking
The allocation of direct reports in projects and handshakes with the involved PM’s;
Working with the IGT-S R&D Design Director and the Central Experience Design organisation in Philips to align on operational excellence, training, career paths and capabilities building;
Help to ensure the quality of the Design delivery in the projects staffed from the team;
You will act as creative leader for the local R&D portfolio of the business, providing creative direction to the teams and co-creating the product roadmap with a customer-centric mindset.
You will support the IGT-S R&D Leader in Bangalore to foster a culture of customer centricity, co-creation and innovation.
Effectively signalling and feedback or escalate issues;
Being aware of and actively act on employee satisfaction of direct reports
To succeed in this role, you’ll need a customer-first attitude and the following
Bachelor’s degree with 8-12 years of related experience or Master’s degree in a relevant field or equivalent and 2+ years management experience
Creative leadership in the field of UX and product design

How we work together
We believe that we are better together than apart. For our office-based teams, this means working in-person at least 3 days per week.
Onsite roles require full-time presence in the company’s facilities.
Field roles are most effectively done outside of the company’s main facilities, generally at the customers’ or suppliers’ locations.
