IntroductionAs Build Labs solution Architect, you are responsible for defining platform and technology roadmaps, application, system and infrastructure requirements, architectural assessments, client system design, networking, security and high availability, lead system migrations and modernizations, design IT operating models for cloud – for ISV partners and global market leaders. You will work with a team of engineers with expertise in market-leading cloud platforms and technologies to implement these migrations, applications and systems. As a Solution Architect, you will work with management to define strategies for success of the entire technical team, and lead the team to deliver to succeed. To succeed, you are a trusted advisor to ISV and partners, and consult and provide guidance as they move their technologies and offerings including IBM software solutions across multi-cloud platforms. This role interfaces with C-suite leadership, sales, business development, marketing, services, product offering, development and other IBM delivery organizations and leaders to ensure successful outcomes and drive revenue growth. Your Role and ResponsibilitiesAs Build Labs Team’s Senior Data Scientist- Solution Architect, you will support the creation of cloud or OnPrem applications that work smarter and more effectively by infusing data science workflows to extract business insights from data. These insights will drive increased value – for many of the biggest and most complex ISV partner applications. You will lead the projects and work with a team of engineers with expertise in industry-leading Cloud platforms and technologies to implement these transformations. As a Solution Architect on the Build Labs team, you will:
- Assist partners in defining, designing, implementing and deploying machine learning technologies in their product
- Participate in engagements with partners
- Enable partners on IBM’s Data/AI technologies, products
- Ensure security compliance to enterprise, industry and regulated standards
- Instill and drive enterprise grade, modern software engineering, CI/CD, and cloud native best practices within your team
- Effectively lead projects with multiple technical teams and IBM Partners across geographies
- Effectively lead the team to deliver high quality results
- Effectively define strategies for the team to grow
- Capture best practices for cloud native applications, infrastructure and systems, create reusable automation assets, frameworks and define standards, create documentation like articles, tutorials, and hands-on workshops & demos
- Demonstrate your passion to understand and learn new technologies, to innovate and improve quality of service
Required Technical and Professional Expertise
You will have:
- Minimum of 18 years experience in software development.
- At least 10+ years experience in technical leadership role, driving technical direction for enterprises, leading technical teams in defining, creating and releasing new products
- At least 5-8 years of experience in architecting data science cloud solutions including capacity to go hands-on and implement complex solutions.
- Experience working on engagements for data science, conceptualization of use cases and experience in design, build, train and deploy ML components. Strong Foundation in Statistics and machine learning algorithms.
- Expertise working with open source packages in NLP, Timeseries etc.
- Expertise with development in a data science programming language like Python or R
- Experience running and statistically evaluating models used in Machine Learning, Optimization, Neural Networks
- Experience with cloud native open-source technologies including Linux, containers, Kubernetes, OpenShift.
- Deep expertise in one or more of the Cloud Providers (IBM Cloud, AWS, Azure)
- Must have one or more of the following customer facing roles in work history: professional services, technical sales, ISV or business partner focal, customer solutions architect.
- Successful completion of a delivered customer project as a lead developer or architect.
- Comfortable interacting with ISV, partner and/or external customer, leading design and implementation in collaboration with lead architects and CTOs.
- Experience in application modernization/migrating to public cloud providers (AWS, Azure, Google, IBM etc.).
- Understanding of automating cloud deployments.
- Knowledge of reference architectures, industry standards and business controls for Governance, Risk and Compliance (GRC) and standardization.
- Leadership experience in a fast growing team.
Background & experience:
- Must exhibit excellent written and verbal English communication skills.
- BS in Software Engineering or comparable field of study.
Preferred Technical and Professional Expertise
- Experience with Edge Computing, Industrial Control Systems (ISC) and Industrial IoT (IIoT).
- Experience in IBM software solutions across multi-cloud providers and Red Hat OpenShift platforms.
- Experience with Enterprise Agile (like LeSS or SAFe) and/or IBM Garage method.
- Experience using reference frameworks and best practices for application and microservices design, e.g. 12-factor app.
- Experience in domain driven architectural standards and patterns for system, security and application development.
- Experience in regulated industries and market ecosystems, such as Industry 4.0, 5G/Edge, Financial Services, or Clean Energy.
- Expertise in Serverless, Service Mesh, Integration, Network, Security, Storage, Privacy and Compliance requirements.
- Experience as a client, ISV or partner solutions architect.
- Experience with VM Hypervisors like KVM, VMWare or Hyper-V.
- Experience with High Availability, Site Reliability & Disaster Recovery plans.
- Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IAC) using Terraform and Ansible and Everything as Code using GitOps.
