Job SummaryWe are seeking a highly skilledSenior Data Engineerwith7+ yearsof experience in handling complex data projects, both on-premise and in the cloud. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in implementing large-scale data warehousing programs and end-to-end data integration solutions, particularly usingSnowflake CloudandInformatica PowerCenter. This role requires a mix of technical expertise, leadership, and a commitment to best practices in data engineering.
Overall Responsibilities:- Lead the design, implementation, and management of large-scale data warehousing programs and end-to-end data integration solutions.
- Develop and maintain ETL applications usingInformatica PowerCenterwithin an enterprise data warehouse environment.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand data requirements and deliver high-quality data solutions.
- Optimize and tune database performance, including the use ofTeradata utilities(Bteq, Fastload, Multiload, Procedures, Macros).
- Create, modify, and optimizeSQL queries, views, stored procedures, and triggers to support data integration and reporting needs.
- Promote development standards, best practices, and reusable components for design and delivery assurance.
- Ensure the security and integrity of data in compliance with enterprise standards and policies.
- Contribute to theDevOpsprocesses and tools, including container-based deployments usingDocker.
- Work effectively in anAgilesquad/chapter setup, utilizing tools such asJIRAfor project management and collaboration.
- Mentor junior team members and promote a culture of continuous improvement and knowledge sharing.
Technical Skills:- Experience:7+ years of experience managing data projects utilizing both on-premise and cloud database technologies, with a strong focus on ETL technologies.
- Data Warehousing:Extensive experience implementing data warehousing solutions onSnowflake CloudandInformatica PowerCenter, integrated with relational databases such asTeradata, DB2,andSQL Server.
- Performance Tuning:Proficiency in Teradata utilities and performance tuning.
- SQL Skills:Strong SQL skills with experience in database programming, including designing for performance and implementing referential integrity.
- Programming:Competency in Unix/Linux programming (Shell and/or Python); Python knowledge is a plus.
- DevOps Practices:Familiarity with DevOps practices and tools (e.g., Jenkins, TeamCity).
- Containerization:Experience in containerization usingDockerand managing Docker images.
- Enterprise Applications:Understanding of large enterprise application requirements, including security and entitlements.
Experience:- A minimum of7 yearsof experience in data engineering, with a proven track record of delivering complex data projects.
- Experience working in anAgileenvironment and familiarity with Agile methodologies and tools.
- Strong communication and leadership skills to facilitate collaboration across teams.
Qualifications:- Bachelor’s degree inComputer Science, Computer Engineering,or a related discipline, or equivalent work experience.
- Prior experience in thefinancial industryis a plus.
- Experience in building applications usingTeradataandInformaticais highly desirable.
- Knowledge ofreal-time streamingandmicroservices architectureis a plus.
- Familiarity with theHadoop ecosystem(e.g., Hive, PySpark) is an added advantage.
