Job Title: Senior Consultant - Global Process Associate

Introduction to role


The Global Labelling Business Process (GLBP) is a crucial global cross-functional process for converting Regulatory text into approved artwork for the production of printed packaging components. This process is vital to AstraZeneca's success, as without correct artwork, it is impossible to produce AstraZeneca packs. The process is utilized by approximately 1500 people and handles around 8,000 artwork changes per year. It is used internally and by external parties, including contract manufacturing organizations, third-party customers, packaging component suppliers, and external artwork studios.


This role supports the Global Business Process Owner (GPO) and the Global Process Experts (GPE) in maintaining and improving the global process, standards, and governance.


The ideal candidate will have experience in the pharmaceutical industry at an appropriate level and relevant experience working with process improvement and digital competence.


The jobholder will be part of a global team, collaborating with global and regional stakeholders to shape and deliver improvements to the Global Labelling Business Process. This role provides a solid foundation for those looking to progress to further roles in the Labelling area, such as the Global Process Expert (Associate Director).


Accountabilities
  • Supports the Global Process Experts, Regional Process Champions, and Local Process Experts in maintaining compliance and resolving process queries.


  • Reinforces the need for process harmonization and use of global standards.


  • Prepares, automates, and uses key process metrics for monitoring and driving continuous improvement.


  • Updates SOPs with process improvements and periodic compliance reviews.


  • Leads/supports problem-solving activities across the process flow/network.


  • Develops training materials to be used across the process network either by others or directly by the role holder.


  • Delivers training to the process network, including Regional Process Champions and Local Process Experts.


  • Performs process confirmations/self-inspections/audits across the network.


  • Leads/supports projects to deliver performance improvement and/or mitigate risks.


  • Supports the flow of artwork through 3PS and external partners, including maintenance of external user access and training.


  • Maintains strong links & relationships across AZ with related central functions/Operation sites/MCs and initiatives in the company that contribute to the delivery of the Global Labelling Business Process.


Essential Skills/Experience
  • Experience of managing project work streams/subprojects.


  • Good understanding of business process management.


  • Good knowledge of Lean methodology, especially problem solving and process confirmation.


  • Good digital literacy, including use of tools such as Power BI.


  • - Team working/influencing skills - should have the ability to positively influence both internally and externally to motivate them to work for common and harmonized processes even when this may mean local change/sacrifices; this includes challenging users more senior to the job holder.


  • Experience of working in Pharmaceutical industry in supply chain/manufacturing and/or Regulatory.


  • Good understanding of Good Manufacturing Practice and Good Regulatory Practice.


  • Fluent in English (written and verbally).


Desirable Skills/Experience
  • Experience of Artwork Management processes and systems in a regulated environment.
