Cost management of complex works packages, managing risk and opportunity ensuring profit on packages and project. Supporting the senior commercial team members in administering the monthly commercial procedures such as cost value report.
You’ll be responsible for:
Reviewing and analyze claims, variation and delays reported by the contractor and consultants.
Reviewing the submitted claims, delay events, review and interpret details submitted by contractor or consultants and determines contractual merits by identifying the root cause of claim, its impact especially on the critical path, identify concurrent delays, determine the onus of the party responsible for the claim, validating cost estimates associated with claims in coordination with commercial team.
Maintaining comprehensive records of all claims, variations, and change orders is essential, as is ensuring proper documentation is available to support the claim.
Preparing detailed claim reports, recommendations, and presentations for senior management. Claim manager is expected to lead discussions with contractors, consultants and project stakeholders to negotiate claims settlements.
Periodically advise on strategies to mitigate risks, reduce claims, and achieve favourable resolutions. Collaboration with legal teams and external consultants, as required, to support or defend against claims may be required.
Coordinating with contract management team for contract administration and compliance, the claim manager will review and interpret contract provisions and assess their impact on claims. Handle claims in compliance with contractual obligations and regulatory requirements, while monitoring changes in laws, regulations, and standards related to claims and disputes.
Acting as the focal point for all claims-related issues and providing regular updates and reports to senior management.
You’ll need to have:
Bachelor's degree in civil, construction management, or a related field.
Experience in contracts and claims management within EPC projects.
Experience in large commercial building projects will be an advantage in FIDIC suite of contracts.
A strong understanding of contract law and regulatory requirements is essential.
Ability to analyse complex data and prepare detailed reports is also required.
