Overall Responsibilities:
- Develop new features and enhancements for various desks and operations users related to Calypso at US Bank, utilizing Java and Calypso APIs.
- Participate in planning sessions, estimate work, conduct testing, and provide Level 2 (L2) support.
- Develop, enhance, and maintain back-office applications on the Calypso platform to support commodity trading operations.
- Collaborate with operations and trade support teams to understand requirements and translate them into technical solutions that optimize trade processing and settlement.
- Implement and maintain workflows for trade capture, confirmation, settlement, and reconciliation processes.
Category-wise Technical Skills:
Core Technical Skills:
- Java development (minimum 5 years).
- Expertise in Calypso APIs.
- Experience with Calypso v16 or above.
- Customizations in Calypso, including Scheduled Tasks, Reports, and Engines.
- Knowledge of Calypso's message and sender frameworks.
Additional Technical Skills (Nice-to-Have):
- Cloud Technologies: AWS.
- Containerization: Kubernetes.
- Monitoring Tools: Grafana.
- Build Tools: Maven, Jenkins.
- CI/CD: Cloudbees.
- Business Acumen: Understanding of derivative products.
- Certifications: Microsoft Certified: Dynamics 365 or Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert is a plus.
Experience:
- 6-15 years of experience in software development, focusing on Java and Calypso systems.
- Strong understanding of commodities trading processes, including trade settlement, reconciliation, and reporting.
Day-to-Day Activities:
- Engage with cross-functional teams to gather and analyze project requirements.
- Develop, test, and deploy applications and features on the Calypso platform.
- Monitor system performance and troubleshoot any issues related to Calypso applications.
- Prepare documentation for system configurations, processes, and user guides.
- Conduct regular meetings with operations and trade support teams to ensure alignment on project objectives.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.
- Relevant certifications in Java development or Calypso systems are a plus.
