What you will do

In this vital role you will be working with a dedicated team in developing a comprehensive & agile automation program that is focused on reducing manual processes, operational spend, security risk & increasing self-service across the DWX ecosystem. The Software Engineer will work closely with all team members across DWX to design and develop automation solutions to optimize the end user experience.
Roles & Responsibilities:
Automation Solutions: Design, develop, and implement automation tools to streamline manual processes, reduce operational expenses, and improve security. These solutions will enhance self-service capabilities for users across the DWX ecosystem.
Collaborative Design: Collaborate with multi-functional teams, including architects, product owners, and other engineers, to design and develop scalable and efficient software solutions that meet business and technical requirements.
Code Development & Testing: Write clean, maintainable, and scalable code. Independently develop, test, and deploy features based on collaborative designs. Use best practices for continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD).
Documentation: Create and maintain comprehensive technical documentation for all new and existing features to ensure clear understanding and knowledge transfer within the team and for future reference.
Code Reviews: Conduct regular code reviews for peers to ensure consistency, code quality, adherence to best practices, and security guidelines. Provide constructive feedback and contribute to building a high-performing engineering team.
Troubleshooting & Debugging: Proactively identify, troubleshoot, and resolve software bugs, performance bottlenecks, and security issues. Implement solutions to optimize code performance and ensure high availability and reliability of systems.
Security & Compliance: Ensure all solutions are designed with security best practices in mind, including encryption, secure data transfer, and compliance with organizational and regulatory standards.
Cloud Infrastructure Management: Assist in managing cloud infrastructure (Azure and AWS), ensuring proper configuration, resource optimization, and cost management. Work closely with cloud administrators to ensure smooth operations.
Innovation & Continuous Improvement: Stay updated with emerging technologies, industry trends, and best practices. Propose and implement innovative ideas to improve systems, processes, and development methodologies.
Support junior engineers by sharing knowledge and experience, providing guidance on technical challenges, and fostering a culture of learning and improvement.
End-User Support: Collaborate with the operations team to address issues related to deployed systems, offering technical support to resolve issues quickly and efficiently while maintaining high levels of customer satisfaction.
Agile Methodology: Actively participate in Agile ceremonies such as sprint planning, daily stand-ups, retrospectives, and grooming sessions. Contribute to the continuous improvement of team processes.
Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work with other departments such as security, compliance, and operations to ensure that systems and processes meet business needs and organizational standards.

Basic Qualifications:
Master’s degree and 1 to 3 years of Computer Science, IT or related field experience OR
Bachelor’s degree and 3 to 5 Computer Science, IT or related field experience OR
Diploma and 7 to 9 years of Computer Science, IT or related field experience
Must-Have Skills:
Fluency in Java Script, PowerShell, Python, .NET, & Power Platform, and familiar with the Graph API
Hands-on experience with RESTful APIs
Strong testing skills, including unit testing and integration testing, to ensure a smooth transition.
A strong understanding of data security practices, including encryption and secure data transfer.
Understanding of how to build a scalable system
Proficiency in using version control tools like Git.

Be willing and able to learn new technologies at a rapid pace
Understanding of desktop systems lifecycle and management
Authentication Protocols: Knowledge of OAuth, SAML
Working knowledge of database systems i.e. Microsoft SQL & Dataverse

Strong verbal and written communication skills
Ability to work independently or in a team environment
High degree of initiative and self-motivation
Ability to manage multiple priorities successfully
