Summary of the position:
We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented person to oversee and manage the lifecycle of contracts across R&D. The role will be responsible for drafting, reviewing, and managing contracts to ensure compliance with company policies, legal requirements, and strategic goals. This role involves collaborating with cross-functional teams to mitigate risks, protect company interests, and facilitate smooth operations.
1. Contract Preparation and Management:
•Draft and review contracts with clients, vendors, suppliers, and other external partners; support risk assessments
•Ensure contracts reflect accurate terms and align with the company's strategic objectives, legal standards, and regulatory requirements.
•Develop templates and standard operating procedures for various types of contracts.
•Act as a point of contact for addressing contract disputes or breaches, working to resolve issues in a timely manner.
2. Contract Lifecycle Management:
•Oversee the entire contract lifecycle, from initial negotiation to execution and renewal/termination.
•Maintain accurate records of all contracts and ensure they are properly archived for future reference.
•Ensure timely renewals and compliance with key dates and obligations.
•Manage contract amendments, renewals, and terminations in line with business needs.
3. Supplier Management: Onboard suppliers and maintain supplier data in relevant systems
4. Stakeholder Collaboration:
•Work closely with various internal departments (e.g., legal, finance, procurement, sales) to ensure seamless execution of contracts.
•Provide guidance and training to internal teams on contract-related matters, including best practices and compliance.
5. Reporting & Documentation:
•Prepare and maintain reports on the status of contracts, highlighting key milestones, risks, and compliance issues.
•Provide regular updates to senior management on the performance and status of critical contracts.
6. Continuous Improvement:
•Review and recommend improvements to contract management processes, policies, and procedures.
•Stay up to date with relevant industry trends, legal developments, and best practices in contract management.
Specific Professional Competencies:
US/North America region experience
Contract Management System (e.g., Icertis) experience - preferred
Dashboard & reporting
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Be able to effectively prioritize and manage several tasks without compromising quality
Excellent project management, time management, and organization skills
Works independently on most initiatives
