Role Overview:As a Senior DBA role in Database Engineering will be responsible for database administration for technologies like SQL Server, Postgres, and DynamoDB etc. Documents and communicates database design and data models. Evaluates and installs database management systems. Provide database design recommendations, review code, and manage automated releases across various environments. You will follow a collaborative process with architects and peers to find innovative solutions to group specific business problems. Recognize, document, adopt & recommend best database practices across engineering organizations.
This is a remote position; however you may be required to be onsite at our Bangalore office on as-needed basis.
About the role:
- We are looking for a Senior Level DBA to work with the DBA and Application Development teams.
- You will work with Operational, Infrastructure, Application Development, Product Managers, Project Managers, Information Security, and other teams across the organization.
- You will provide database design recommendations, and conduct DBA activities for Non-Production and Production environments.
- You will create and maintain Database systems in Production and Non-Production environments.
- You will design and conduct data migration, database backup & database recovery activities.
- You will be involved in Database Design and Data Architecture/ Data Modeling activities using ERWIN.
- Also, the main activities will include the Database optimization of the non-production and production systems and working with development and infrastructure teams.
About You:
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, engineering, or related fields preferred.
- 7 to 9 years of Database Administration experience with Postgres, SQL Server, and any other database platforms in AWS Environment.
- Good experience in Database Management, Database Administration in an AWS environment
- Good experience in a cloud-based database engineering ecosystem like AWS.
- Understanding of scalable computing systems, data architecture/data modeling, software architecture, database structures, and algorithms.
- Working proficiency in a Linux environment.
- Good database architecture, project management, and communication skills including data analysis and database strategies.
