The Strategic Research team is a part of the Strategy and Corporate Development team at AXA XL. The team is instrumental in setting strategy at a division level – from both the top down, aggregating macroeconomic factors, industry trends, and other market intelligence – and from the bottom up, by working with business units to help define and capitalise on their unique industrial advantages. The Strategic Research team provides research and analysis of the insurance and reinsurance market trends, tracking competitors on all relevant dimensions and delivering strategic insights surrounding risk, new technologies and strategies. This helps senior management, identify actions needed to improve its industrial position, also anticipate future industry, and market trends within its local, regional, corporate, or global operations.
The Strategic Research team works closely with the Leadership team, Strategy teams, and various country/ business unit heads. The candidate will be assisting the Strategic Research team in researching and summarizing the findings on various topics including emerging countries, industries, emerging risks, product development research, new trends and technology.

·Continuously gather and disseminate research and information from various sources to gain a comprehensive understanding of the marketplace, industries, emerging risks, and products.
·Summarizing the information obtained into concise and accurate reports.
·Communicating new research methods, databases, and analyses that respond to a dynamic market environment.
·Participating in regular telephonic discussions and meetings to understand and interpret requirements to deliver products and services ensuring client satisfaction.
·Conducting desktop-based research using a combination of specialist research tools and a variety of other online sources.

We’re looking for someone who has these abilities and skills:
Required Skills and Abilities:
·Relevant years of experience in business/ secondary research at a leading professional/ consulting firm, e.g. Big 4, financial services captives, a leading research firm.
·Master’s degree in business administration from a reputed institute.
·Secondary research skills and comfortable using external research sources.
·Ability to analyze business (company, industry and/or regional) information and organize multiple points and large amounts of data into concise targeted information summaries.
·Effective research skills with the ability to carry out related research and analysis projects.
·Working knowledge of commercial databases such as Moody’s, S&P databases, and A.M Best (preferable).
Desired Skills and Abilities:
·Insurance domain knowledge preferred, not mandatory.
·Ability to work in a team environment and resiliently.
·Excellent communication skills – verbal, writing, listening.
·Possesses effective knowledge of MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, and MS Word.
·Effective intellectual capacity – a continuous learner, highly analytical, good conceptual thinking skills.
