The U.S. Consumer Services Team is responsible for our suite of consumer products, services, and experiences in the U.S., including our premium, cobrand, cash back, and lending portfolios, Membership Rewards, Global Travel & Lifestyle Services, the Centurion Lounge network, our Global Dining and Resy businesses, U.S. Consumer Banking, and best-in-class marketing programs across customer, prospect, and partner channels. The USCS team is focused on making membership an indisputable competitive advantage and helping each other become better leaders every day.


The U.S. Consumer Marketing team (USCM) is part of the US Consumer Services Group and is responsible for making membership essential by creating and delivering world class marketing for our differentiated products and services that drives demand and inspires engaged card members across the customer lifecycle. Within USCM, the Marketing Analytics & Investment Services team (MA&IS) delivers critical targeting, analytics and planning capabilities that enable USCM to make optimal investment decisions and ensure that our best current and future customers can be rewarded with great offers and marketing treatments.


Within Investment Services, the Customer Performance Insights team drives actionable data insights across various key touchpoints of Cardmembers interactions with Amex, enabling higher engagement and better behaviors through customer treatments and marketing campaigns.


The Customer Loyalty Data Insights team is tasked with identifying and tracking key metrics and uncovering the drivers that affect those metrics to bring about higher loyalty and revenue outcomes


We are seeking candidates for the newly created role of ‘Analyst/Senior Analyst – Customer Loyalty Data Insights’. As a key partner to the US Customer Loyalty Marketing team, they will communicate insights regularly with senior leadership and drive value through creating end-to-end data capabilities that will support insight driven decision making for the business. In this critical and high-visibility role,there are many opportunities to lead initiatives, working with colleagues within the team and across teams. The individual will be responsible for applying best in class analytics and data science to help Marketing identify and understand trends and anomalies in customer behaviors.They will become a subject matter expert on Customer Marketing reporting tools and will help monitor and ensure data quality.


Job Responsibilities


·Produce insightful deep dives into the Customer Loyalty Data Insights analytics projects


·Deliver insights to CustomerLoyalty teams through exploratory and ad hoc analysis


·Serve as gatekeepers for quality of data flowing in from COEs


·Collaborate closely with the Customer Loyalty Marketing, Product and Data teams


·Provide an incubation environment for new analytic/reporting ideas


·Create, maintain, and deliver upon a transparent ticketing/prioritization process for ad-hoc analytic and data requests


Minimum Qualifications


·2-3 years of hands-on experience in data analytics


·Bachelor’s degree in Data Analytics, Statistics, Engineering or similar quantitative field


·Intermediate data skills: SQL and Python/R


·Experience developing reporting in data visualization tools (Tableau or Power BI)


·Analytical skills – ability to analyze/understand large data sets, synthesize and draw out relevant insights


·Strong communication and presentation skills – equally capable of interacting with peers and senior leaders


·High attention to detail and accuracy – strong sense of responsibility and accountability


·Ability to both take direction and to take initiative to proactively develop solution


·Experience working through data quality issues


·Strong customer facing communication skills


Preferred Qualifications


·Advanced degree in in Data Analytics, Statistics, Engineering, or similar quantitative field


·2+ years of experience in Performance Marketing


·2+ years of experience of using Google Cloud Platform/Hadoop/Big Data (Hive, Pig, HBase etc..)
