Job Description:
An SAP Technical Lead is a senior IT professional with in-depth expertise in SAP systems, responsible for leading the technical design, development, and implementation of SAP solutions by overseeing a team of developers, ensuring alignment with business requirements, and driving the technical architecture of complex SAP projects, including managing system landscapes, performance optimization, and resolving technical issues across the SAP implementation lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities:
Technical Design and Architecture:
Define and guide the technical architecture for SAP solutions, including system landscape design, integration points, and data flow.
Translate functional specifications into detailed technical designs for development and configuration.
Evaluate and recommend best practices for SAP development methodologies and standards.
Team Leadership:
Lead and mentor a team of SAP developers, providing technical guidance and coaching on complex issues.
Assign tasks, monitor progress, and ensure timely delivery of technical deliverables.
Conduct code reviews and quality checks to maintain high standards of development
Implementation and Support:
Manage the implementation of SAP solutions, including customization, configuration, data migration, and testing.
Provide technical support for post-implementation issues, troubleshooting production problems, and applying necessary SAP updates.
Communication and Stakeholder Management:
Collaborate closely with functional consultants, business stakeholders, and project managers to understand business needs and translate them into technical solutions.
Communicate technical concepts effectively to non-technical audiences and manage expectations.
Performance Optimization:
Identify and address performance bottlenecks in SAP systems, optimizing queries and data processing.
Monitor system performance and implement necessary tuning strategies.
Required Skills and Experience:
Deep Expertise in SAP Modules:
Extensive knowledge of specific SAP modules like SAP ECC, S/4 HANA, CRM, MM, SD, FI/CO, depending on project requirements.
ABAP Programming:
Strong proficiency in ABAP development, including object-oriented programming concepts, BAPIs, and data manipulation techniques.
Technical Architecture Understanding:
Comprehensive knowledge of SAP system landscapes, including development, quality assurance, and production environments.
System Integration:
Experience with integrating SAP systems with other external applications using interfaces like APIs and middleware.
Project Management Skills:
Ability to manage technical aspects of complex SAP projects, including planning, execution, and risk mitigation.
Communication and Collaboration:
Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with cross-functional teams, including business users, functional consultants, and technical stakeholders.
