Role – SAP Data Migration Senior Consultant
Summary:
An SAP Functional Data Migration Consultant is responsible for ensuring smooth and efficient data migration during SAP implementation, upgrade, or migration projects. The role involves analyzing business requirements, mapping data from legacy systems to SAP, and collaborating with technical teams to ensure accurate data extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL).
Responsibilities: 
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to define data migration scope and strategy.
  • Develop detailed migration plans, timelines, and risk mitigation strategies.
  • Analyze legacy system data structures and business requirements.
  • Design and document data mapping rules between source systems and SAP target modules.
  • Work closely with functional teams to ensure mappings align with business processes and SAP configurations.
  • Collaborate with technical teams to design extraction and transformation scripts.
  • Ensure data integrity and validation during the migration process.
  • Support data load activities using tools like SAP Data Services, LSMW, BODS, or SAP Migration Cockpit.
  • Conduct data profiling and cleansing activities to ensure quality.
  • Perform pre- and post-migration validation to verify data accuracy.
  • Resolve data inconsistencies and issues in collaboration with business users.
  • Define test cases and scenarios for data migration.
  • Support end-to-end testing, including unit testing, integration testing, and user acceptance testing.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve data migration issues and defects.
  • Create and maintain detailed documentation of migration processes, mapping rules, and issues encountered.
  • Train end-users and stakeholders on migrated data and new SAP system functions
SAP Skills
  • In-depth knowledge of SAP modules (e.g., FI/CO, MM, SD, HR, or others) and their data structures.
  • Experience in understanding and interpreting business processes and data requirements.
  • Proficiency with SAP-specific migration tools such as LSMW, SAP Data Services (BODS), or SAP Migration Cockpit.
  • Knowledge of ETL processes and tools.
  • Familiarity with SAP tables, structures, and data integration concepts.
  • Basic understanding of SQL and database management systems.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Detail-oriented with a focus on data accuracy and quality.
Preferred Qualifications: 
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, Business Administration, or related fields.
  • Certification in SAP or data migration tools is a plus.
  • Experience with S/4HANA migrations is highly desirable
