SAP CPI - integration Consultant

Job Description:

An SAP CPI (Cloud Platform Integration) job typically involves designing, developing, and deploying integration solutions between SAP systems and third-party applications using the SAP Cloud Platform Integration tool, including tasks like gathering business requirements, configuring adapters and mappings, testing integration flows, troubleshooting issues, and maintaining the overall integration landscape, while collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless data exchange across different systems. 

Key responsibilities of an SAP CPI professional:

• Integration Design:
  Analyze business requirements, identify integration points, and design integration flows using SAP CPI capabilities like message mapping, data transformation, and routing rules. 
• Development and Configuration:
  Build integration flows within SAP CPI, including configuring adapters (like SOAP, REST, OData, IDOC), defining message mappings, and setting up data transformation logic. 
• Implementation and Deployment:
  Deploy integration flows to the SAP Cloud Platform, perform testing and quality assurance, and manage the deployment process. 
• Troubleshooting and Support:
  Monitor integration flows, identify and resolve issues related to data errors, connectivity problems, and performance bottlenecks. 
• Collaboration with stakeholders:
  Work closely with business analysts, functional consultants, and project managers to understand business needs and translate them into technical specifications. 

Required skills for an SAP CPI role:

• Technical Expertise:
  Deep understanding of SAP CPI functionalities, including adapters, message mapping, integration patterns, and data transformation techniques. 
• Programming Knowledge:
  Proficiency in scripting languages like Groovy for custom data manipulation within integration flows. 
• Integration Concepts:
  Familiarity with integration methodologies like SOAP, REST APIs, and messaging protocols. 
• System Landscape Knowledge:
  Understanding of various SAP modules (like S/4HANA, ECC) and their data structures to facilitate system integration. 
• Problem-solving skills:
  Ability to diagnose and troubleshoot complex integration issues
