The Role
We are looking for a Salesforce Tech Lead who will focus on platform governance, compliance, and security, while also leading the delivery of select features and enhancements. An important part of the role is to oversee multiple Salesforce teams from different business units who share the same Salesforce tenant, ensuring they work together harmoniously without causing issues. You will establish governance frameworks, collaborate with key stakeholders, including Compliance, IT, Marketing, and Sales, and facilitate platform optimization. The role will also involve coordinating efforts across teams to deliver targeted improvements while maintaining a secure and compliant environment.


Key Responsibilities


  • Platform Governance: Develop and maintain governance frameworks and best practices for the Salesforce platform, focusing on data security, compliance, and platform scalability.


  • Salesforce Shield Management: Oversee the configuration and management of Salesforce Shield for event monitoring, field audit tracking, and encryption, ensuring optimal usage for security and compliance purposes.


  • Overseeing Multiple Teams: Coordinate and oversee Salesforce teams across different business units sharing the same tenant, ensuring their activities are aligned and do not create conflicts or disruptions.


  • Compliance Alignment: Collaborate with the Compliance Team to ensure Salesforce configurations and processes meet regulatory requirements, including GDPR and data protection standards.


  • Feature Delivery: Lead the development and deployment of new features and enhancements, including custom configurations, flows, and integrations, while adhering to governance policies.


  • Security Management: Implement and manage security measures, including role-based access, user permissions, and monitoring, to maintain a compliant and secure Salesforce environment.


  • Change Management: Ensure changes to the platform are well-governed, following established change management processes, including testing, documentation, and approval workflows.


  • Cross-Team Collaboration: Facilitate collaboration between teams to ensure shared resources are used effectively and platform changes are coordinated to avoid conflicts.


  • Platform Optimization: Conduct regular system health checks, performance analysis, and proactive maintenance to ensure stability and efficiency.


  • Policy Development: Create and enforce policies for platform usage, data governance, and security, keeping them aligned with industry standards and Kaplan's internal policies.


  • Documentation and Training: Maintain comprehensive documentation for platform configurations, policies, and procedures. Provide training and guidance to users on best practices.


  • Hybrid Schedule: 3 days remote / 2 days in office


  • 30-day notification period preferred


Skills and Experience Required


  • 7+ years of Salesforce experience, with a focus on platform governance, compliance, security, and feature delivery.


  • Salesforce certifications such as Certified Advanced Administrator, Platform App Builder, or Application Architect are preferred.


  • Hands-on experience with Salesforce Shield, including setup, event monitoring, field audit tracking, and encryption.


  • Experience in managing and coordinating multiple Salesforce teams working within a shared tenant.


  • Strong knowledge of data protection laws (e.g., GDPR) and experience ensuring Salesforce configurations comply with regulatory requirements.


  • Proven ability to establish and maintain governance frameworks for large-scale Salesforce implementations.


  • Cross-functional collaboration skills, with experience in aligning different teams toward common goals.


  • Familiarity with CI/CD tools and Salesforce DevOps practices.


  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to present complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.


Desirable Skills


  • Experience with Salesforce Marketing Cloud, Mulesoft, or AWS.


  • Familiarity with automated compliance testing and Salesforce security tools (e.g., Security Health Check, IAM policies).


  • Understanding of Agile development methodologies and experience managing feature releases.
