Position Overview:
The Upgrade Systems Analyst is responsible for executing technical upgrades of our investment management system (IMS) for clients. This role involves assessing client systems, planning upgrade strategies, executing upgrade activities, and providing technical support to ensure successful deployment and operation of upgraded systems.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Technical Assessment and Planning:
- Assess client systems and infrastructure to determine compatibility and readiness for upgrades.
- Collaborate with project managers and stakeholders to define technical requirements and dependencies for upgrade projects.
- Develop detailed upgrade plans, including timelines, resource requirements, and risk mitigation strategies.
2. Upgrade Execution and Deployment:
- Lead technical aspects of upgrade projects, including software installation, configuration, and testing.
- Coordinate with development and testing teams to ensure smooth transition to upgraded systems.
- Implement deployment strategies to minimize downtime and disruption to client operations.
3. Testing and Quality Assurance:
- Develop and execute test plans to validate functionality, performance, and compatibility of upgraded systems.
- Identify and troubleshoot technical issues and discrepancies during testing phases.
- Ensure adherence to quality standards and best practices throughout the upgrade process.
4. Documentation and Knowledge Transfer:
- Create and maintain documentation, including upgrade procedures, technical specifications, and system configurations.
- Provide training and support to internal teams and clients on upgraded system functionality and usage.
- Facilitate knowledge transfer sessions to share insights and lessons learned from upgrade projects.
5. Technical Support and Troubleshooting:
- Serve as a primary point of contact for technical support during and after upgrade deployments.
- Investigate and resolve technical issues reported by clients or internal stakeholders.
- Escalate complex issues or system failures to appropriate teams for resolution.
6. Continuous Improvement:
- Stay updated on industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies related to upgrade processes and systems.
- Identify opportunities for process improvement and automation to streamline upgrade workflows.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement enhancements and optimize upgrade methodologies.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, or related field.
- Minimum of 5-6 years of experience in system administration, software configuration, or technical support roles.
- Proficiency in system analysis, software deployment, and technical troubleshooting.
- Strong knowledge of operating systems, databases, and network infrastructure.
- Experience with scripting languages (e.g., PowerShell, Batch, SQL) and automation tools preferred.
- Excellent communication, problem-solving, and collaboration skills.
- Ability to work independently and effectively manage multiple tasks and priorities.
- Project management experience is a bonus.
Working Conditions:
- This position is a hybrid working model, typically operates in an office and remote environment.
- The role involves occasional evening or weekend work to accommodate project deadlines or client needs.
