Job Description

The HSE Manager role must participate in the planning, assessment of risk, identification of controls and monitoring of high-risk activities. To effectively succeed in the role, you must:  


  1. Provide visible leadership engagement to ensure we are managing risk
  2. Support field HSE (Inform, develop, guide)
  3. Plan and implement safety policies and procedures
  4. Proactively prevent incidents and injuries
  5. Investigate and share learnings from incidents
  6. Ensure that personal behaviors and work practices are in line with Company safety standards
  7. Devise, supervise and coordinate training programs
  8. HSE Data owner/verifier
  9. Represent the organization in community or industry HSE groups and programs

Leadership:


  • Participate in JSA’s and verify work is being conducted as planned during site/field visits
  • Participate in high risk activity discussions/planning and provide coaching on minimizing risk
  • Provide coaching for verification activities (Leadership Engagements, Safety Observations, coach cards, OFI’s, Stop the Jobs, etc.)
  • Develop people: Ensure planning and conversations are taking place to develop HSE Team members

Support Field HSE Team:


  • Providing solutions and trouble shooting challenges with the HSE team
  • Visibility: Provide coaching and guidance onsite 
  • Communication: Ensure the information being communicated from the leadership team is communicated
  • Establish clear goals and accountabilities for the HSE team\

HSE Standards, policies and procedures (SP&P):


  • Understand Parker Wellbore HSE Management System and HSE specific projects. Be a go-to source for information on HSE Management System updates and HSE Projects
  • Ensure the HSE tools (leadership engagements, coach cards, JSA’s, etc.) are used as designed and provide feedback on the effectiveness of the tools
  • Conduct reviews of the SP&P’s during the year and provide feedback to HSE function
  • Conduct bridging document reviews

Incidents and injuries (Prevention & Learning):


  • When an incident requires an investigation: Shepard the investigation process and provide coaching and guidance on the investigation process
  • Support the development of the lessons learned communications
  • Assure all incidents/actions are closed out by providing line of site to overdue incidents/actions and being a resource to help getting incidents/actions closed

Verification:


  • Ensure all compliance audits are conducted as required. Coordinate resources for HSE Audits
  • Participate in audits, assessments and inspections as required
  • Participate in any regulatory site visits and provide input to all HSE regulatory inquiries or communications

Training:


  • Participate in the development of the HSE Training matrix
  • Participate in the development of training materials and deliver face to face training, if needed.
  • Ensure HSE team is compliant with training requirements

HSE Data


  • Provide and verify all required HSE date for your area per the OIS requirements
  • Ensure HSE data is shared and feedback is provided to the area teams

HSE groups and programs:


  • Participate in HSE related industry groups, internal groups and client groups to advance the HSE Function and company goals

Qualifications

Qualifications


  • Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, Engineering, or a related field
  • 6+ years of experience in a similar HSSE role
  • Professional certifications such as NEBOSH IGC, IOSH, BCSP: (CSP, SMS, OHST, CHST)
  • Strong knowledge of HSSE regulations, standards, and best practices
  • Understanding and Implementation Strategies of IOGP International HSSE Standards and Life Saving Rules
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills
  • Ability to analyze complex data and generate actionable insights
  • Experience in incident investigation and root cause analysis
  • Proficiency in MS Office and relevant HSSE software
