Role Summary & Role Description


We are looking for an experienced Network leader to oversee the management, performance and security of our network infrastructure in the region. Based in India, this role will involve managing a team of network professionals and working alongside the global network teams in taking forward the State Street network strategy. The role will own the operations responsibilities in the APAC region and collaborate with the other regions to ensure a robust operations and availability round the clock.


The ideal candidate will bring at least 15 years of experience in network operations and a proven track record in managing a network team for a global enterprise. This role will work collaboratively with the global network engineering team and IT colleagues to lead cross-tower strategy, business alignment, and support of network solutions.


Responsibilities and deliverables include:


  • Lead network operations support strategy for network technologies inclusive of Wide Area Network, campus/branch networking, wireless, DNS, firewall and Secure Web Gateway solutions.
  • Provide oversight of third party network managed service provider to ensure they are meeting the service level objectives for incident response, problem and change management.
  • Escalation point for major network incidents. Experience evaluating and leading outages for critical network infrastructure.
  • Proficiency in developing network related KPIs (Key Performance Indicators) and participating in  operational reviews to management.
  • Collaborate with network leadership and engineering teams to drive the development of the network operations strategy to support stakeholder requirements and value attainment.
  • Collaborate with engineering team to define and implement proactive monitoring strategies.
  • Assist in the planning of network upgrades, capacity expansions, and disaster recovery strategies. 
  • Provide detailed reports on network performance and incidents to senior management. 
  • Formulate strategic and operational objectives aligned with organizational goals.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams globally to align network operations with business objectives.

Education & Required Qualifications:


  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
  • Minimum of 15 years of experience in network operations, with at least 5 years in a managerial or supervisory role. 
  • Expertise in managing large-scale network systems, including LAN, WAN, remote access and network security. 
  • Experience in transitioning and building capabilities, leading a global diverse team of network professionals.
  • Experience with network monitoring tools
  • Proven ability to work in a global, multi-time-zone environment. 
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to perform under pressure. 
  • Industry certifications such as CCNP, CCIE, or equivalent are desirable. 
  • Technical experience in the following areas:
    • Routing and Switching technologies (DC fabric and campus switching)
    • SD-WAN
    • Next-Gen Firewalls and Network Segmentation designs
    • Zero Trust Network Access (ZTNA) Solutions
    • Network Load Balancing and Web Application Firewalls
  • Excellent writing and presentation skills
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills
  • Experience with JIRA, Confluence and/or Sharepoint
