Job Description
Adhering to Illumina’s Global Purchasing Policy and best practices, this position will lead supplier onboarding efforts and work closely with internal stakeholders to guide them through creating purchase requisitions and managing all issues related to purchase orders.
Responsibilities:
- Ensure that all requisitions and other purchase documents comply with established processes, policies and procedures
- Provide support after requisition has been issued to a purchase order to internal users as well as suppliers
- Manage all supplier onboarding requests (indirect and direct) and all changes to supplier records
- Support purchases outside of purchase order process such as purchase card orders; including reporting and follow up with leadership
- Management of internal orders
- Work closely with fellow purchasing/sourcing team on RFQ process
- Monitor and expedite open orders and manage open orders, as necessary
- Execute ideas for cost savings with collaboration of team members
- Maintain strong collaboration with internal customers to ensure products and services are delivered at the right price, quantity, quality, and time
- Provide Ariba catalog enablement support and maintenance and continuous improvement of catalog process
- Manage backend processes such as invoice resolution issues and closing POs
- Advocate and enforce the Global Purchasing Policy
- Maintain methodology and tools for ongoing performance

Requirements:
- Experience in Indirect Purchasing Activities
- Experience in MRP, SAP, and Ariba is needed
- Exceptional customer service skills and experience
- Bioscience background preferred
- Able to work independently
- High attention to detail and ability to balance multiple priorities simultaneously
- Proven ability to negotiate
- Intermediate level skills with Microsoft Office suite
- Excellent interpersonal and verbal communication skills
- Effective verbal, written, and presentation skills
- Willingness to work in shift to support US Region (No night shift required)

Experience/Education:
- Typically requires a minimum of 5-8 years of related experience with a Bachelor’s degree; or 3 years and a Master’s degree; or a PhD without experience; or equivalent work experience.
