Roles & Responsibilities:The Advanced Metering Contracts and Legal Analyst will be responsible for providing legal and contractual support for the organization’s advanced metering initiatives. This role involves reviewing, drafting, and negotiating contracts, as well as managing legal risks associated with the deployment and maintenance of advanced metering infrastructure (AMI). The position requires close collaboration with internal stakeholders, external vendors, and legal teams to ensure compliance, mitigate risk, and support the organization’s strategic goals.
Key Responsibilities:
· Contract Management:
Review, draft, and negotiate contracts related to advanced metering services, equipment, and software.
Assist in the development of contract templates and standards for advanced metering programs.
Manage the contract lifecycle, from inception to execution and renewal, ensuring compliance with organizational policies and legal requirements.· Legal Support:
Provide legal analysis and guidance on issues related to the deployment, integration, and maintenance of advanced metering infrastructure.
Interpret and advise on regulatory compliance, data privacy, and security requirements related to metering technologies.
Support legal risk assessments and help identify potential issues and propose solutions.· Vendor and Stakeholder Liaison:
Work closely with internal stakeholders, including procurement, finance, operations, and technical teams, to ensure that contract terms align with business objectives.
Serve as a liaison between the organization and external vendors, ensuring all legal and contractual obligations are met and mitigating any disputes.· Dispute Resolution:
Support in the resolution of disputes with vendors or contractors related to advanced metering projects.
Provide legal counsel during negotiations and settlements to ensure the organization’s interests are protected.· Compliance and Reporting:
Monitor compliance with contract terms and relevant laws or regulations.
Assist in audits and prepare reports for management on the status of contracts and legal matters related to advanced metering projects.
Required skills:
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Law, Business Administration, or a related field. A Juris Doctor (JD) or equivalent legal qualification is a plus.
Experience:
Minimum of 8+ years of experience in contract law, with a focus on technology, energy, or utilities sectors.
Previous experience working with advanced metering, smart grid technologies, or similar infrastructure projects is preferred.
Familiarity with regulatory requirements, data privacy laws, and industry standards related to advanced metering technologies.
Skills:
Strong negotiation and contract drafting skills.
Excellent knowledge of contract law and regulatory compliance.
Ability to analyze complex legal issues and provide practical solutions.
Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
Detail-oriented with excellent organizational and time-management skills.
Certifications:
Relevant certifications in contract management or legal fields (e.g., Certified Professional Contracts Manager (CPCM), or Certified Commercial Contracts Manager (CCCM)) is a plus.
Work Environment:
Hybrid or on-site work, depending on company policies.
Occasional travel may be required for meetings, conferences, or vendor engagements.
