The Role
As a Project Engineer with Worley,you will work closely with our existing team to deliver projects for our clients while continuing to develop your skills and experience.
- Project Planning and Design:
- Assist in the development and preparation of project schedules, scope documents, and technical specifications for all phases of the project.
- Provide technical input during the design and engineering phase, ensuring compliance with project requirements, local regulations, and industry standards.
- Coordinate with engineering teams to identify and resolve technical issues, providing solutions to enhance the efficiency and cost-effectiveness of the project.
- Co-ordinate key reviews such as Hazop, Model review etc
- Assist Project Manager in developing Project Execution Plans, procedures, progress reporting etc.
- Procurement and Vendor Management:
- Assist in the procurement process, ensuring that materials, equipment, and services are sourced on time and in line with project specifications.
- Collaborate with procurement teams to evaluate vendor proposals, ensure compliance with technical requirements, and negotiate delivery schedules.
- Manage relationships with suppliers and subcontractors, ensuring performance standards, quality, and adherence to project timelines.
- Ensure proper tracking of procurement actions such as requisition, release, Technical queries, Technical evaluations etc and expedite. with Engineers and vendors for timely completion
- Construction and Execution:
- Support the construction phase by ensuring that the project is executed in accordance with the design specifications and project timelines.
- Assist the Project Manager in ensuring that construction activities comply with safety, quality, and environmental standards.
- Coordinate with site teams, contractors, and subcontractors to ensure smooth execution of daily operations on-site.
- Technical Support and Quality Assurance:
- Provide technical assistance to project teams and troubleshoot any technical issues that arise during the design, procurement, or construction stages.
- Ensure quality control throughout all phases of the project, conducting regular inspections and ensuring compliance with quality assurance protocols.
- Review and verify engineering deliverables, such as drawings, specifications, and other technical documents.
- Project Coordination and Reporting:
- Act as a liaison between various stakeholders, ensuring effective communication and coordination between the engineering, procurement, construction, and commissioning teams.
- Assist in preparing regular project reports, tracking milestones, costs, and schedules, and communicating updates to the Project Manager and other key stakeholders.
- Support the tracking of project progress, addressing any delays or issues that may impact timelines or deliverables.
- Support the team to create value Engineering environment to foster long term business relationships with customer
- Proactive approach towards implementing digital solutions in project execution
- Risk Management:
- Assist in identifying potential project risks and contribute to the development of mitigation strategies.
- Ensure that all HSE (Health, Safety, and Environmental) regulations and standards are adhered to, minimizing safety risks and ensuring a safe working environment.
- Commissioning and Handover:
- Support the commissioning phase by ensuring that all systems, equipment, and installations are tested, verified, and meet the client’s requirements.
- Assist in preparing the necessary documentation for the final project handover, including as-built drawings, operating manuals, and maintenance instructions.
About You
To be considered for this role it is envisaged you will possess the following attributes:
- Experience:
- Minimum 10 years of experience as a Project Engineer within the Oil & Gas, Chemical, Petrochemical, or Refinery sectors.
- At least 5 years of experience in EPC or EPCM, LSTK projects, with significant exposure to large-scale industrial projects.
- Technical Skills:
- Strong understanding of engineering principles, construction practices, procurement processes, and quality control standards in the oil & gas and petrochemical industries.
- Proficient in reading and interpreting engineering drawings, project specifications, and technical documents.
- Familiar with HSE standards and their application in large-scale construction projects.
- Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Civil, Chemical, or related field).
