Department
You will be part of Manufacturing Operation-India, Global Supply Chain, Cement who supports Capital and Service for Materials, Warehouse & Logistics. By joining this team, you will have the chance to work in an international environment involving different cultures and different challenges. This department works closely with both our internal and external customers to ensure FLSmidth equipment’s on time delivery and customer satisfaction. You will be located in the Arakkonam plant.
Role
The Production Engineer role at Arakkonam involves taking on complex technical assignments and assisting in the design of equipment, tools, methods, and services within production. This position is pivotal for maintaining product quality and timely production.
Your Responsibilities:
- Run the Plant Production (for E&I and Automation) efficiently taking up the complete responsibility starting with People, Production, Quality of the product ensuring smooth running of all the equipment.
- Periodically review design drawings, bill of materials, and highlight deviations & changes faced in the assembly of machines.
- Coordinate with vendors, contractors, and internal teams to ensure timely delivery.
- Help ensure that customer, statutory, standards, and internal requirements are met or exceeded.
- Maintaining accurate project records such as updated drawings and documents throughout the project lifecycle.
- Diagnose and resolve electrical issues to minimize downtime.
- Identify opportunities for process improvements through automation and system upgrades.
- Train team members on electrical systems and automation best practices.
- Maintain detailed documentation of electrical systems, control programs, and maintenance activities.
- Prepare regular reports on production performance and system reliability to Management.
- Promote a culture of safety among the production team.
Key Accountabilities
- Adheres to production schedules and coordinates with material requirements.
- Provides input to optimal condition for equipment needed for the production process.
- Direct corrections (corrective action) of any manufacturing problems that may arise; work with Quality Manager in development and implementation of corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
- Promotes a culture of personal and team safety, including others who may be affected by the company’s operational activities.
What you bring
- Strong knowledge of electrical systems and industrial automation technologies.
- Siemens, Beckhoff, AB PLC Knowledge
- Good understanding of regulatory requirements for operating factory
- Strong aptitude for root cause analysis and troubleshooting operational issues
- Proficient with Microsoft Office applications and computer technology
- Familiar with operating plant equipment safely and efficiently
- Experience in review of Electrical drawings.
- Experience in Industrial Panel Layout and JB Layout drawings.
- Strong knowledge of UL Listed, CE Marking on Industrial Panel
- Experience in site support for E&I equipment installation/ commissioning in process industries.
- Conversant with AutoCAD 2D / E-plan / MS Office & other latest engineering tools
- Proficient Knowledge on Engg. Standards. (IEC / NEMA / CSA / IS & other relevant 's for global projects)
Education Qualification
Bachelor’s degree or Diploma in Electrical Engineering, Automation Engineering, or a related field.
Experience
15-20 years in a production or manufacturing role, preferably in the cement machinery or heavy equipment industry.
